Yuzujuku (Fruit Mellow) is Shishiku Kimiko's Zanpakutō.
The unreleased blade is unremarkable, its guard has the shape of an apple that has had a chunk bitten out of it. It's hilt is slightly longer than normal with a gaudy pink colour wrap. Other than those two discerning factors, nothing separates Kimiko's Zanpakutō from that of any other when its sealed.

Spirit Description

Yuzujuku's form is that of a teenager and is a reflection of the maturity of Kimiko's powers as a Shinigami. She has short brown hair which is parted to her right side and held in place with a pink clip. She wears bright clothing consisting of a pink tank top, black mini-skirt. To match, she wears black and pink striped stockings and has a thin black tie around her neck. However, when she wants to do anything to do with fighting (e.g., training with Kimiko), she changes into kendo gear; white keigo-gi, dark pink hakama, various pieces of bogu and a shinai.

Ordinarily Yuzujuku's personality is the opposite of Kimiko's, she is loud, active and acts like an older sister to the dimunitive Shinigami. She has a passion for music and often attempts to persuade Kimiko to learn the guitar. Additionally, Yuzujuku is quite interested in the sport of Kendo; more specifically the amount of skill and courtesy behind it. This interest stems mostly from observing Kimiko practice her sword play and goes to show that Yuzujuku is has an ever evolving personality (most likely due to Kimiko's immature self).

Shikai

As Kimiko releases the Zanpakutō, the blade begins to emit a pinkish-red glow, before a similarly coloured energy begins to spill from the end of the hilt, resembling a long intangible ribbon.

Shikai Abilities

Stranded Berry (Ren Kinomi)

The energy produced by the Zanpakutō can be used in three different ways. The first wraps strand-like energy akin to her ribbon around a certain area. After a few seconds, this dulls any pain receptors present while at the same time healing the recipient. Since reaching Vice-Captain level Kimiko has refined this skill to an art so that the energy used can be individually thinner than a strand of string. This combined with Kimiko's high levels of concentrations effectively allows Kimiko to 'puppeteer' herself around a battlefield, allowing her to ignore movement impairing injuries. However due to the delicate nature of knowing how hard to pull on various parts of a body or object, this is restricted solely to herself and lasts only as long as she is conscious and while the Zanpakutō is released.

Cherry Trance (Sakura Toransu)

The energy is now becomes unstable and pushes matter away from itself. It can be formed into most conventional forms such as any 'projectile', 'explosion' or most recently, 'bubble' form. More often than not, however, it is used like a crescent-wave style attack or an explosion around Kimiko. When used in any 'focused' form (e.g.: a crescent style attack), the ability promotes a severing effect as it penetrates a target before pushing the target's matter apart, allowing it to cut through objects with greater ease. Whereas when used in a 'broader' form (e.g.: a large explosion or a bubble around Kimiko), it can cancel attacks that are weaker than her own ability and pushes any explosive after effects away from herself; however it can be overpowered by those that have more power.

Demon Nightshade (Kinasuka)

This ability has evolved from its original form so much that Kimiko considers it a different ability all-together. By taking the original concept of a bubble barrier, Yuzujuku is able to absorb kidō spells that Kimiko casts and materialize it in some manner within the bubble. The distance of which the bubble can be produced and maintained away from Kimiko is very short due to the need to maintain energy from both the Zanpakutō ability and the Kidō spell. However, when used correctly, the variety of spell combination and attacks that can be generated are numerous.

Strengths

Yuzujuku's abilities all derive from energy that is formed from her reiatsu. This means Kimiko can create multiple instances of abilities at once or place great amounts of energy behind attacks, giving her the advantage in combat should she choose to attack from multiple directions at once or attempt to overwhelm an opponent. Additionally she can freely convert any ability that has been formed into that of another giving her combat style a very unpredictable edge.

Kimiko has further expanded on her other two original abilities, the first, Stranded Berry is the advanced from of Grape Gush. Other than its obvious healing advantage and pain nullification. It allows Kimiko to 'puppeteer' herself and only herself around if she looses control of her limbs through injuries, allowing her to keep fighting even while she's wounded.

Her Cherry Trance ability now allows for a more controlled destructive ability which can function both as a defensive mechanism and an offensive ability. Defensively it can resemble that of a bubble around her, shielding her from weaker attacks. Offensively it can be either a lightning bolt, crescent-like wave or even an explosion around her. This covers pretty much the three ranges that are possible to attack Kimiko from- long, mid and short range.

Her last ability is considered by Kimiko to be a completely new ability despite it sharing the original 'bubble' style area of effect. It allows her to combine her Kidō with a variety of methods of application; from 'coating' her Zanpakutō to creating a 'barrier-bubble'. This creates a large variety of new attacks or defensive abilities.

Weaknesses

To use multiple instances of her ability at once Kimiko requires a fair amount of concentration; akin to looking both left and right at the same time and in certain circumstances, up and down too.

While she does not require to have concentration focused should she be using Stranded Berry on anyone; her abilities do create a massive drain on her reiatsu if used incorrectly. Thus, attempting to overwhelm opponents using Sakura Trance both requires large amounts of energy and canceling out weaker attacks is sometimes not as efficient as dodging an attack.

Her third ability, Demon Nightshade, allows Kimiko to use Kidō abilities in conjunction with her Zanpakutō, but this again comes at the expense of large amounts of energy being used since she has to keep the Zanpakutō ability up as well as actually casting the initial Kidō spell (which vary in amounts of reiatsu required).
