Personality
Yuu is the silent type and doesn't like showing his emotions to anyone. Some would say he is out there and he usually is. He is mostly seen with an unsettling look on his face (most likely because he is always trying to figure out a puzzle book. His mind is always buzzing and at times he tends to explode at people, which makes it harder to make friends. He is very quite and has very good patience but even he has limits. To his friends that he has, he’s a cool guy to be around and he’s also loyal to his family, friends and his superior. He will put his life in danger to protect and serve the peace. Sometimes he likes to work alone. It’s just the way he is.
History
Yuu Kohaku was born in Tokyo. It was there that his mother and father took him and his best friend Ken to see a martial art tournament for his 13th birthday. Yuu and his friend was mesmerized at what they saw. After the show, there both ask their parents if they could learn martial arts. When they attended the first twelve lessons, there teacher told Yuu and Ken that he was a natural born at martial arts. His family was very proud of him and so he worked everyday to keep it that way.
Knowing that Yuu had his parents was on his side. Yuu and Ken went on training after they graduated in the top ten of his class. They teacher send them to a town near Edo borders, so that they can improve in there skills and participate in the local martial art tournament. The tournament wasn’t for another six years, but they still had a lot to learn. When they got there, two large men who took them to their hotels greeted Yuu and Ken. The next day Yuu woke up early to start his training, the training there was very different from the training they had at home and much harder to learn and master.
It’s been six years since Yuu and Ken seen their parents and the tournament is in three days. Yuu wanted to show his parents how much he’s improved and the respect that comes with being one of the best. Those two days Yuu trained day in and day out to tune up his fighting skills and to make sure that he’s ready. And the last day he awaited his mother and father's arrival. It’s the day of the tournament, and some of the country’s best fighters were there. Ken’s family has just arrived but Yuu didn’t see his parents with them. And the first match in the tournament has just begun.
Two hours has past and Yuu made it to the semi-final rounds of the tournament, but Ken wasn’t so fortunate. He got eliminated it the match that would put him in the semi-final rounds. It’s time for the fight that will decide if Yuu would make it to the final round. When Yuu looked into the crowd he still didn’t see his parents. This disturbed him dearly but he didn’t show it. The fight has just started and Yuu is up against one of the top ten fighters in the country. Ten minutes has past and the fight has become intense battle of strength and speed.
Yuu was holding his own until he saw his mother and father taking their seats. Yuu was so happy and relief to see that they had arrived safely and it was also the first time in six years seeing them. In all this excitement he forgot about the match, which was a mistake on his part. Doing this he left himself open for a fatal illegal blow to the head. When Yuu fell to the floor, all he could remember was seeing his parents and how much there were proud of him then everything went dark.
When Yuu awoke, he was in a strange place surrounded by three men and one woman. He was very confused and ask them where is his parents, what happen to his friends and the fight. One of the men told him that when he was distracted during the fight by his parents, he was killed with an illegal blow to his head and died. At first he thought it was a dream, but it didn’t feel like one. The woman than told him that everything ok and that she sees a lot of potential. So she took him to live with her in the 16th district of Rukongai and said that she’s going to enroll him in the Shinigami Academy in a few weeks.
Yuu Kohaku has progress very well in the academy. His training has paid of for him so well that he was accepted into the 2nd division as an unseated member. One day Yuu and his teammates were sent on a mission to fight a hollow. His teammates surrounded the hollow and started to attack it. Yuu was scared but didn’t show it to the group and jump right into the fight. The hollow manage to avoid the attacks and came right after Yuu. Yuu froze up and couldn’t move out of the way. One of his friends and teammates jump in the way and saved his life at the cause of his own.
Yuu Kohaku was shocked at the sight of his teammates lying on the floor lifeless. He started to become enraged and when after the hollow. The hollow swings at Yuu but Yuu manage to avoid the blow by jumping in the air over it. While he was in the air he draw his sword but missed. This time the hollow attack Yuu while he was facing backwards but another one of his teammates deflected the attack, this gave him enough time to counterattack but the hollow was ready for him and knocked him down hard.
Yuu straggled to his knees with his and his friend’s blood dripping down his sword. Then Yuu grabbed his sword and touch the blood on the blade and sworn to himself and to his sword that he would avenge him. His pain was immense but Yuu Kohaku ignored it until he finally pulled his sword out of the ground. Yuu held his sword in front of him and proceeded with his assault on the hollow. The hollow attack one of Yuu’s teammates but missed. Yuu then jumped into the air with his sword and sliced the hollow’s arm off. The hollow then turn to it’s attention to Yuu and started too attack him. Yuu saw the attack coming but he didn’t move, instead he stuck his sword into the ground and slashed at its legs. This made the hollow off balance and gave him a chance too attack the hollow direct and finally slay it. From that day on Yuu has trains daily to become stronger, hoping that one day he’ll make it as a vice captain member and to learn his shi kai.
All Yuu could remember after the fight was backing off a bit and then he couldn’t remember anything after. When Yuu awoke he was crushed into a tree. Yuu got up wondering that had just happened, he was back in the human world and didn’t fully understand. Yuu then walk slowly to a nearby town due to the fact he was injured from the fall with a broken hand and ribs. He went to see if any one nearby near what happen. As he got to the town he didn’t make it too far before collapsing in the middle of a dojo. One of the students took him in so that he could recover from his injuries. As he awoke it the dojo he didn’t even pay attention to the people who was taking care of him. All he could think of was what happen to soul society, was it destroyed by the strange male onslaught. Yuu didn’t know what to think as he slowly drift into a slow sleep with his zanpakutō gripped tightly.
A few days later he awoke from his sleep with most of his wounds heal. His ribs and arm were wrapped in bandages as he got on his feet and slowly took a look around the dojo. Yuu exits the room and walked through the hallway until he entered a training room. The owner of the dojo said “look who’s finally awake and shows us their presents. My name is Xavier and this is my dojo, where I train some of the world’s greatest fighters you will ever see. Maybe you will like to train here as you recover from you injuries.” Yuu look at Xavier and then said I accept you offer.
Yuu ribs were finally healed but his arm wasn’t, it would take about another month or two to fully recover from his broken arm. But Yuu didn’t feel like waiting and went on to train with Xavier and his student to keep himself in tip top shape. Yuu was holding his own against the students that was training with Xavier for years very easy, even though his arm was still injured. But it was expected that the student couldn’t hold there own against Yuu. Xavier watches as Yuu defeats his students one by one and was very impressed with his skills. Yuu then jumped onto the roof to enjoy the fresh breeze and try to find any of his fellow shinigami but was interrupted by Xavier. Hey Yuu, I saw you back there earlier and your one hell of a fighter even with injuries none of my students could of defeated you. How long could you fight like that. As long as I can remember, it was my job to be one of the best fighters and protect where I’m from, Yuu said.
Yuu arm has now fully recovered and he can fight to his fullest potential. Yuu then challenged Xavier to a sword fight, and he accepted it. Yuu prepared himself on the same night for the fight. The next day Yuu got up early and was on the roof of the dojo once again. He watches the sunrise as he tried to sense anyone from soul society but once again he was interrupted but this time it was by one of the students telling him that breakfast was ready. Yuu leap off the roof and landed in front of the young student. I hope you do well against Master Xavier. Thanks I appreciate your concern but I’ll be fine, yuu said.
Yuu and Master Xavier took there places and where on they way. Master Xavier stood their waiting for Yuu to make the first move. Yuu saw that he had to get this started or it would just be a stand still. Yuu ran towards Xavier with sword drawn and jump into the air and swung it down onto Xavier’s sword with tremendous force pushing him backwards. Yuu caught his balances and ran toward Xavier once again, but this time in a zigzag motion to confuse him. As he increased his speed and swung his zanpakutō at Xavier legs. Xavier managed to avoid the attack with a back flip but wasn’t expecting Yuu to be in front of him with the zanpakutō pointed to his throat. This match is over Master Xavier. I am the victor of this fight.
Xavier was shocked to see the great fighting skills that Yuu have. And decides that he would be the new leader of the dojo after he retires in a few months. Yuu got he’s own room in a couple of days and begun to learn the rules his dojo and all the other dojo around the world. After about two months of familiarizing himself with these rules he would stay in his room for hours trying to hear his to release his shi kai but fail each and every time. Yuu didn’t know why he lost his power but he could he still can communicate with his zanpakutō. Each day he tries to gain his ability and will continue to until they return.
