Yonakashio
From Inga no Kusari wiki
Yonakashio (Midnight Tide) is Kaijin Sagaku's Zanpakutō.
Yonakashio looks like a typical katana in its sealed form. The wrappings are a deep ocean blue. It has a circular tsuba that has three circles on the top and bottom; the middle one being bigger than the other two. On the either side of the tsuba is one side to a yin-yang symbol.

Spirit Description
Yonakashio takes the form of a giant sea serpent who towers over Sagaku. Though Yonakashio is similar to many dragons, he is more serpentine in appearance. His scales consist of different shades of blue and reflect light as if each scale were a crystal lens. Yonakashio has various fins that protrude from its body to help it swim through the ocean.
Yonakashio sees itself as a noble beast and follows a swordsman's way of life; strictly living by the code of bushido. As such he tries to pass that of onto Sagaku as well. Their relationship with Sagaku is that of master and student. He is constantly trying to teach Sagaku something, whether it be a new technique, manners, leadership, or even how to attract a woman. He looks upon Sagaku with fondness and does whatever he can to help him succeed. At times their relationship even goes further to that of father and son.
Yonakashio feels at home in the deep ocean; though, it enjoys the surface every now and then as well. The world it resides in is a direct reflection of that. Most of it is deep and underwater, but there is one area where sand has accumulated enough to allow for Yonakashio to beach every now and then and has a couple of palm trees for shade. A small coral reef surrounds this small island. In the other direction is a valley that descends deeper than the rest of his sanctum. This is Yonakashio’s main dwelling. The valley has many tunnels along the side that Yonakashio travels through and sleeps in. At the base of the valley are seven stone pillars representing the seven codes of bushido. Within the pillars is a hole that goes deeper than all the rest of Yonakashio’s sanctum. This is Yonakashio’s main sleeping chamber. When Sagaku visits they meet somewhere in between the island and the valley.
Shikai
Release Command: Kara no joushou wa fukae, Yonakashio! (Rise from the deep, Yonakashio!)
Sagaku holds Yonakashio horizontally in front of him. As he says the release command, he swings it into a vertical position. As it swings, it changes into its released form and he then holds it in front him in a strike-ready position.
Yonakashio doesn’t change much in shape, as its in the same form as its initial katana form. It gains the black metal that denotes the dull edge of most zanpakutō along the spine of the blade. The odd thing is that at the base of the blade, a hole forms in the direct middle that stretches one-third of the way down the blade. Though it is rather unusual, it proves useful in trapping opponents’ blades and its design is based on the old world method of water dowsing, which also has something to do with Yonakashio‘s powers. At the base of the hilt, Yonakashio gains a long ribbon of the same material as the wrappings. This is meant to represent Yonakashio’s tail as the tip of the blade represents its head.
Shikai Abilities
Yonkashio is a water-type kidō zanpakutō, as such its abilities mostly concern the control of water. The ribbon on the hilt of the shikai is a symbol for how much water is left in reserve. It can be replenished if he is around a source of water and will regenerate slowly if he is not, though it may take hours. As Sagaku grows stronger, less and less of the ribbon is consumed until eventually it is never depleted. Any water issued by Yonakaio act like real water and takes the same amount of time to evaporate from the field of battle. The only difference is that it can not be controlled by another being with power over water. Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 1-10 points/Regenerates 1 points per hour (per post if near water) Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 2-25 points/Regenerates 5 points per hour (per post if near water) Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 3-50 points/Regenerates 10 points per hour (per post if near water) Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 4-100 points/Regenerates 25 points per hour (per post if near water) Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 5-Unlimited
*Any time there is a Zanjutsu/Kidō Level requirement, the two skills must both match the level requirement. If one is lower than the other, the ability does not work.*
Idai na hebi no kyuryu (Great Serpent Torrent)
(Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 1) Uses 1+ points per attack
Sagaku points the blade of Yonakashio in any direction. A small ball of water starts forming in the hole at the base of the blade. Once its become as big as the hole itself, he announces the name of the attack. Water cascades down the length of the blade and begins to spiral. Once it leaves the tip of the blade, it becomes a torrent of water and shoots out at the same velocity of a fire hydrant. Though it has no cutting power, it does have enough force to knock someone back and break some bones. Although at first he does not have much control of the torrent and it shoots in a straight line, as his average Zanjutsu/Kidō level rises he gains more control of it. Over time it will be able to twist and bend, till eventually it will be able to bend completely around to hit the target from behind if it missed in the first place.
Joka no tama (Orb of Purification)
(Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 2) Uses 5 points (1 point per subsequent post to upkeep)
Sagaku holds Yonakashio vertically before him. Again the small ball of water begins to form and again he says the name of the ability. The ball starts to grow larger and larger until it engulfs Sagaku altogether. Sagaku has no problem breathing or seeing in the ball of water, though people now have a distorted view of him. The ball effectively acts as a barrier to protect Sagaku from attacks. It can’t protect him from everything, but it can protect him from a lot. It absorbs single attacks and creates a protective pocket in attacks that would otherwise engulf him. Most physical attacks and some energy attacks are caught by the water and are slowled down on their way to Sagaku, losing their energy with it. Attacks that aren't quite strong enough merely dissipate or are unable to make it to Sagaku. Attacks that are at least two steps higher than Sagaku’s current average Zanjutsu/Kidō level are able to still have enough energy to make it through to Sagaku and break the ball’s form. The only exceptions are fire attacks that must be four steps higher to be able to break into it and lightning which only has to be at least two steps lower; though, no mater what, Sagaku will still be electrocuted through the water.
Nana kanketsusen no yosai (Seven Pillar Fortress)
-(Zanjutsu/Kidō Level 3) Uses 35 points (5 point per subsequent post to upkeep)
Sagaku holds Yonakashio upside-down as the ball of water forms. Once it has finished, he plunges the blade into the ground and says the name of the attack. Seven circles of water appear in a circle around Sagaku, each one 50 feet from him. After pulling the sword out, the circles erupt in a geyser of water the shoot skyward and stays there. The purpose of this move is to trap Sagaku and one opponent in an confined area so that Sagaku can put his full concentration on the opponent. If anyone tries entering or exciting the area not under Sagaku’s consent, tendrils of water shoot out from one geyser to another to block their way. The one advantage that Sagaku has over his opponent is that he is able to enter the geysers while his opponents are repulsed. Once inside the geyser, he can reappear from any of the other geysers at will. The rules for penetrating the pillars are the same as Joka no tama except that the difficulty to penetrate is one step higher than it would be for Joka no tama; though, instead of trying to hit Sagaku in the middle, the attacks are attempting to make it all the way through to the other side.
Strengths
-Since it is water-based, its attacks and abilities are strong over fire-based abilities
-Most of the attacks use high water pressure and easily has enough force to break and crush bones
-While submerged in Yonakashio’s water, other people are forced to the same limitations they would experience normally, but Sagaku ignores this and is able to breathe and move normally
-Yonakashio has a mix of offensive and defensive abilities to provide Sagaku with a counter for most situations
-Yonakashio greatly complements Sagaku’s fighting style and strives to make up for Sagaku’s weaknesses
Weaknesses
-As Yonakashio is made of water, its abilities are susceptible to the same things that normal water is, such as electricity.
-Initially Yonakashio only has a limited reservoir of water to use that takes time to replenish
-Yonakashio’s Joka no tama and Nana kanketsusen no yosai are only made of water and not entirely impenetrable. Whatever attacks made against the water are absorbed by it and slown down until they’ve lost all energy. Attacks with enough energy are able to make it through.
-Yonakashio has no special combat abilities and can only be used as a normal katana in melee combat
-Yonakashio’s abilities are slow to take form and execute, giving opponents a chance to both dodge and attack Sagaku. The only exception is his Joka no tama which he can throw up in a moment’s notice; however, it is noticeably weaker than it would be should Sagaku go through the normal invocation and only provides a hollow shell instead of a full ball of water
