Appearance

Vander is of average hight and a strong build. He always carries a black duffel bag over his shoulder. The bag contains Vander's Gyrojet assault carbine that has his artifact attached to on a chain, four clips of 15 rounds each of gyrojet bullets. The bag also contains a Cell phone, some money, ID, and a weapon permits from both Japan and The United States for the gyrojet.

Personality

Vander, because he spent years with a group of Fullbringers and because of his father, lacks the arrogance that many Quincy have. He also spent time in the military and as such expects everyone who is assigned a task to give it their all and complete the task or at least do their best. He personally dislikes, but doesn’t hate Shinigami, for their lack of effort to help both is family and the Eternals with the hordes of Hollows.

History

30 years ago Vander’s mother, Tsubaki, was a Quincy of the Pfeil Abbey. His father, Kaito, was a Fullbringer from a bad part of Okumichi City. They first met when they both showed up to slay the same hollow, while they teamed up to kill it, they decided to start dating. However Tsubaki father, the Quincy Artefact Elder, did not approve of a “Non-Quincy Hooligan” dating his daughter. So he forbade her from ever seeing him again. Tsubaki, of course, didn’t obey her father, and snuck out to see him. All was well for a time until Tsubaki became pregnant. Outraged at his daughter’s disobedience, the Elder ordered the excommunication of his own daughter from the order of the Quincy, officially for creating a rogue artifact. The young couple hung around only long enough for Vander to be born before fleeing Japan and going to the United States were they change their names and discreetly joined an American Quincy Church.

When Vander was old enough to begin training as a Quincy, the church began to train him in the Quincy arts. And in time Vander grew into an almost perfect little Quincy, showing a well rounded talent and a seemingly unshakable loyalty to the Church. However, just before he turned 18 disaster struck. A host of hollows descended on the church and slaughtered most of the members in a matter of minutes, leaving only the clergy, Vander's parents, and Vander himself. The group managed to hold off the onslaught of hollows for more than a day. But one by one the hollows picked off the defenders. The first to be eaten was Vander's father, a Soul seer with close range powers was ganged up on buy a group of hollows and was overpowered. The surviving clergy were fatally wounded when a pack of hollows with ranged powers unexpectedly showed up. Vander's Mother, with her crossbow and a determination to save he son, survived longest, besides Vander himself. She finally meet her end when a hollow snuck up behind her and gutted her with its claws. Enraged, Vander pulled the energy from the dying Quincy around him and fired his bow again and again. Slowly Vander's bow began to change shape and color, changing from a bow to a crossbow and from a blue color to a jet black. Just a Vander, who had been firing for an hour, fell to the ground, exhausted and past his limits, The Shinigami breached the inside of the church, making short work of the remaining hollows.

The Shinigami healed Vander's wounds and left, leavening him completely homeless and with no place to turn to. So Vander after collecting all the money in the church and a few other things, like his mother's quincy cross, which he wears around his neck as a charm and left. He wandered the country for two years, practicing his Quincy powers and with his new crossbow. Eventually Vander registered with the U.S. Military, becoming a expert marksman. While in the military he discovered he had a surprising talent for close range combat and became proficient at both swords and using his gun as melee weapons. Soon after Vander's three year stint in the military, he hooked up with a group of about ten fullbringers in New York.

Vander stayed with the Fullbringers, who called themselves The Eternals, for almost five years. During the first year that Vander was with them, they became aware of a bizarre quality that Vander had, the stronger a spirit, the less he could determine about them. Despite his weaknesses Vander and The Eternals, spent five years protecting New York City from Hollows and corrupt Fullbringers. Until one day, a group of Fullbringers, The Immortals, entered a Deal with a pack of Hollows, The Hollows would destroy the Eternals in exchange for allowing them to Hunt in New York City again. The Hollows accepted the Deal and set off after the Eternals, most of the Eternals were taken of guard and were slaughtered while they slept. The only one of the Eternals that Vander is aware of that survived the massacre is himself. For another year, Vander made his way to Japan following rumors about strange events happening in the city of his birth. Finally he made it to Okumichi City arriving just after a strange what the News was calling a 'long-term but low-grade earthquake' damaged a small area in the city.

Combat

Strengths

Melee: Unlike most Quincy Vander has training in melee combat, He has been trained in use of a sword and his rifle as a blunt weapon.

Weaknesses

Set speed and Reload time: Because Vander has a crossbow instead of a standard Quincy bow, he cannot fire off a quick series of shots like most of he Quincy brethren.

Assault Carbine: Because Vander's artifact is incorporated into his gun, Vander is under even more restrictions than a normal Quincy about using his powers in public.

Weak vision: The more powerful a spirit is the harder it is for Vander to see them, Espada, Vasto Lorde and Shinigami that have achieved Senkai are all but invisible to Vander, they all appear as a Humanoid blurs, He cannot tell them apart.
