Appearance

Suzuki is eternally nineteen. Her hair is long and black tied as in a high tail held in place using a white cloth, any loose strands of hair are clipped to the sides of her head to prevent any from obstructing her face, this clearly highlights her purple irises which are easily the most unique and attractive parts of her body.

She is can be described as 'plain yogurt' when one looks at her body. Suzuki is of an average height, lithe build and also has an average chest area; all of which is hidden for the most part by her uniform, which itself is entirely stock standard

Other than her Zanpakutō, Suzuki carries an additional weapon; a wakizashi. However, she does not consider her twin swords to be a 'daisho' set. Rather; she only keeps her Zanpakutō on her person at all times, sheathed behind her waist. The other is only brought out when she is expecting a battle and is usually sheathed so that the two scabbards form a cross behind her.

Personality

Suzuki is outgoing and respectful, the first thing that most people will notice about her are her manners. She is traditional when it comes to addressing her elders or superiors and holds the appropriate respect for those that have earnt it is. She is very friendly when she speaks to her peers and has a fair sense of humour. Despite her infatuation with combat, Suzuki is not the stereotypical brute like most people would associate with; this is because she has pride and she follows her own system of honour. Suzuki will often place her duty as a Shinigami before her pride, however, when a matter becomes personal, she will quickly forget her duty and protect her pride.

Her strong sense of pride and honour is reflected in her combat skills; favouring physical combat with her weapons rather than Kidō and even flash stepping. However, this does not mean she cannot use either the demon arts or shun po; she just prefers not to use them where possible. To Suzuki, an honorable fight is almost always exclusively a one on one battle. While her ideals frequently have her fighting with just her weapon and herself, often she'll assess an opponent's skill by their use of tactics, abilities and whether or not they depend on their special abilities heavily or not. As a result of her personality, often Suzuki will draw her Wakizashi first, giving her opponent the advantage of weapon length (unless they have an even shorter weapon) but will switch to her Zanpakutō once she is sure they are skillful enough as not to insult them.

History

Suzuki was born in Nagasaki, Japan. She was the child of a nurse and a soldier and as a result she grew up with a very diverse family culture. Her mother would teach her all the things a housewife and woman needed to know, how to arrange flowers, the tea making ceremony as well as household chores. Her father however, would teach her all the things he would have done as a child, eating messily, bug collecting and the most notable activity, Kendo.

As she grew into her late teens, Suzuki began to help out her mother at the hospital she worked at. Being one of the larger ports in Japan, Nagasaki was often the base of recovery for soldiers injured during World War II. It was her job to ease soldiers back into physical training, having been trained in a little bit of Kendo; Suzuki would train their legs and arms with sword strikes and footwork. This came all to an end when Nagasaki became the victim of the nuclear bomb, "Fat Man". Suzuki was among those in the immediate blast radius and was killed instantly.

When she 'awoke' Suzuki was among the thousands of souls that appeared in Rukongai. Having no recollection of her life, she spent her time drifting in between the various outer districts, avoiding danger when she could. There were times however, fighting could not be avoided and using salvaged weapons from those that had been killed in previous fights; Suzuki managed to keep herself alive with her natural instincts.

Eventually she grew a name for being elusive as well skilled with a sword and was sought out by members of a certain clan. Under the ruse of a life-threatening battle, the family tested her natural instincts and skills that she had retained after dying. While she had never been more than a first Kyu rank in life, she still bore much more skill than many of the residents in Rukongai and was offered to be adopted into the family.

The Chiba family was renown throughout the middle and outer districts for being notoriously strong; the members were hand picked for their skill in weapons and fighting. They had a long, proud tradition of raising many peacekeepers and Shinigami; under their watch and training, Suzuki blossomed into a fighter. Her new found family were very much like Samurai, they had a code to live by and they respected strength, skill and cunning. Eventually Suzuki learned to enjoy the art of fighting, to test her opponent's limitations and reactions.

Many times the Chiba family and Suzuki worked alongside with Shinigami to patrol the districts. Frequent contact with Shinigami slowly awakened her spiritual energy, eventually spurring her hunger for food that ordinarily did not come to souls. Thankfully she was prepared for this, knowing the history of her clan and wanting to become better herself as part of the Chiba code, she enroled into the Shinigami Academy.

Suzuki excelled in the Academy, her training from the Chiba clan brought her to the top of the class in the physical disciplines. She showed herself a fairly capable user of the demon arts and under pressure she used her head coolly. Suzuki was often scolded, however, for not using the skills she was taught to their full extent. Often she was loathe to use Kidō in combat and did not attempt to get around her opponents, often getting scolded for her attitude towards the arts.

However, she graduated easily enough despite her instructor's misgivings towards her combat style, she was graduated and assigned to the Third Division due to her overall skills in all four of the Shinigami disciplines.

Combat

Strengths

Suzuki is fairly strong for her age and gender. Despite this, Suzuki is still quite agile compared to the ordinary person. She also has a fairly focused mind when it comes to things, allowing her a fairly strong amount of control over her reiatsu.

Unlike most Shinigami, she has a strong mentality. While she is able to push her limits when it comes to both physical and metal barriers. For example, reiatsu surges barely affects her unless it's overwhelming.

Suzuki rarely uses anything but her Zanjutsu and minimal Hohō movement. This hides the true extent of her skills, allowing her to surprise opponents.

Weaknesses

One weakness that Suzuki possesses is that she does not utilize her full skill set. Most of the time she wll be seen using only her Zanpakutō and minimal footwork. This opens an opportunity for opponents to use abilities that completely nullify her fighting style.

For the most part her fighting style is also fairly predictable, she prefers to fight physically with her weapon and does not rely on abilities such as flash stepping or kidō.

Whenever she has not drawn her Zanpakutō and is using her wakizashi, she has an obvious disadvantage in terms of the size difference in weapons as well as having no abilities at all.
