Appearance

Sho

Shogure Daiguren Kasuke is a tall and lean man of around 22 to 24 years of age. His silvery locks is shoulder-long. He doesn't like to tie it up, but on rare occasions or when the situation calls for decency and tight-lipped morality, he begrudgingly does. He'd rather have it flowing freely, swaying to every swing of his sword and every parry he returns whenever he is in battle. His eyes are a deep crimson red, and his body is lean, but cut. There are also some noticeable scars all over his body, particularly some burns, a sizeable scar on his chest, and a slight cut-scar in between his eyes. But these scars fail to tarnish his reputation of being somewhat 'handsome'.

He is proud to be shinigami, considering it as a privilege more than that of a duty. But he is duty bound to the rules and the office that comes with it, although not so entirely. There are still times when he finds the time to crack a joke or two, or more.

After the events that transpired during the Chaos Massacre and before the Siege of Seiretei, Shogure Kasuke was swept up in a whirlwind of promotions, from being a 3rd seat in the Eleventh Division to becoming acting Lieutenant and finally, as captain of the Thirteenth Division, breathing life to a division badly in need of leadership. As such, he was given a haori, but he made some personal modifications to it and to his clothes as well. The haori's sleeves are cleanly cut-off at the shoulders, a reminder of his Eleventh Division days although it is a tamer version of the Eleventh Division captain's own haori. His shihakusho, though, has its sleeves torn off, a reminder of his battles with Kain, one of the main ringleaders of the Chaos Incident. He has since kept it that way.

Personality

Once a lone wolf, recent events had transformed the once-introverted and haughty minor noble from Rukongai's First District into someone more befitting the title of 'captain'. He has since been friendly, jolly, and quite the talker, although there are still times when he still prefers to keep silent if only to observe the details and the happenings around him. Sho had become quite analytical, although this doesn't mean that he isn't the same guy who'd been in the Eleventh long enough.

He is still essentially the same man before; he still loves competition, and would willingly fight whenever there is the need to fight, or not, although most of the time he can be seen training his subordinates in the Thirteenth, just like his former captain. He also has developed a part of him in which he helps others whenever they are in need of helping, and this has become an integral part of his personality since gaining a higher and much more heavier office in the Gotei 13. Still a bit picky of his friends, although becoming a captain means he is now more of a 'pack leader' than a 'lone wolf'.

Although the reason for his past is because of a tragic love, Sho is soon to find out that things have a habit of turning themselves around and surprising you.

History

Sho Kasuke, as everyone may know, was born into one of the minor nobles of Rukongai, the Kasuke clan. While this family may fail to compare greatly to any of the four major nobles of Seiretei, they do not lack in accomplishments and accolades that had thrust them into the limelight. This weighed heavily on Sho's shoulders when he was just a young graduate from the Academy, trying so much to please his father, but things have changed.

The lust for power has changed, if it hadn't dissipated. His inception into the Eleventh squad of Atamasha Taichokozen had actually changed things for him, from the hatred of his father, to his personality. He had met his zanpaktou through his stay in the Eleventh, Kuroihonoo, and the spirit had become his mentor, his teacher, and his friend at times when he cannot rely on someone else. This friendship became essentially beneficial for the once-young Shogure Kasuke because it enabled him to learn his zanpaktou's name and, once it was time, it enabled him to release his bankai.

During his tenure in the Eleventh he met many people that had changed his life. From the once-captain commander of the Gotei 13, Amon Miguel, right after his graduation, to the people whom he share a bond of trust right now. From various people coming from different divisions and families of Seiretei, to the everyday people with whom he formed a bond on during his stints on Earth, Sho had learned to trust and earn trust as well.

His descent to captainhood wasn't a honeymoon, actually. It all started when the captain of the Eleventh Division was looking for a suitable replacement for the 3rd seat whom he 'accidentally' injured, for lack of a better word. Sho happened to have the credentials just in time, just having learned his zanpaktou's name and having constantly trained, and was considered for the job. Thus began his steady ascent, thanks to all the training that his captain and his proud lieutenant had given him (the training was more 'forced' rather than 'asked for'). Although he had become more of a brawling combatant rather than a balanced shinigami warrior equipped with all the tools a shinigami needs, Sho managed to fight on equal footing with enemies who are stronger than him, both physically and spiritually.

And then came the events that shrouded the whole of Soul Society in a veil of despair.

It came in the form of an event happening one day, when a zombified shinigami was found walking in the more rowdy districts of Rukongai. Shinigami officers were called to the scene, one of them being Sho Kasuke who was a third seat at the time. His presence as an officer of the Eleventh Division was always needed, since no one really knew when the help of the Heavy Assault squad would be needed. Therefore, one would always be handy to have around, and Sho filled that role.

Being rather weak and fairly untrained, Sho failed to rise to the occasion that time when the enemies of Seiretei made themselves known. From the creatures, which became designated as 'libitinarii', to their ringleader, a creature known as Chaos, Sho fought to the best of his abilities only to be tested by a new character who made himself known as Kain. Sho himself was struck down by this new character, and there his hunger for power changed into one that made him take this challenge as a positive light.

Events happened one after the other, the most notable one being the death of Shirou Kamui, Lieutenant of the Eleventh. No one expected thus to happen, more so did the third seat of the Division. Being lieutenant of the Eleventh meant you wouldn't die so easily at the hands of even the most strongest opponent, but Kain so quickly dispatched of the supposedly strong lieutenant of the Eleventh. Sho was so shocked to have witnessed thus, but bore in mind that he was no longer the same Sho that Kain had struck down. That now, after so many events which he witnessed and so many trainings he had since undergone, he would go toe to toe with this menace.

For the first time, like a young raven unfurling his wings for the first time, Sho unleashed his bankai on Kain. Kain escaped before Sho could fully show the extent of his bankai.

The events fast-tracked Sho's promotion from being third seat of the Eleventh to becoming it's new acting lieutenant in the event of Shirou Kamui's death.

But before Sho could even perform the duties of his new office, he was immediately called away from the Eleventh barracks into the barracks of the Third Division, from which he felt an unusual rise in reiatsu and spiritual pressure. Upon arrival they saw that the Division had an unnatural dome which prevented most weaker officers to pass through, and only a handful managed to pass, with Sho included.

There, he came face to face with a gruesome image: the captain of the Third Division, Dominic Blade, being disposed of by a surprising character.

He had half expected Kain to be present. But instead, there was Shirou Kamui, who had just killed the now deceased Captain Blade.

From there, when they had managed to form a united stand against Kamui, Sho followed with the shinigami he had just fought with into Hueco Mundo, where they faced off with arrancar, hollows who had managed to retain most of their former self and had attained a level of awakening most closer to that of becoming shinigami. Sho was wounded gravely, but managed to return to Soul Society thanks to the help of the Twelfth Division captain, Arasugane Mekyo.

Upon coming back to Soul Society, at the Third Division headquarters, which was in ruins due to Shirou Kamui's(who was now calling himself 'Sedris') efforts, another whirlwind of events happened.

Due to her inadvertently accepting that it was her fault that Shirou Kamui had become traitor to Seiretei, Arasugane Mekyo was arrested for treason. And because of the nature of the threat to Seiretei, promotions were made again, this time well thought of; the lieutenants of each division were to be made captains, in order to fill up the rosters of empty captains in the Gotei 13. By now, each and every division has a captain, and Shogure Kasuke was given the captainship of a division long neglected, the Thirteenth Division.

The Thirteenth Division, when Sho came in as captain, was a division long neglected by Seiretei. And as such the entire division, its captain's office included, has fallen into ruin. Sho was tasked with leading the division, and so he was also tasked with bringing the entire division back up and running, it's structure and HQ also included.

Sho's office, which is currently under repair, will be a lot more homey once it is done. The main office will have a large desk, on which papers shall be stacked one upon the other. Sho's stuff from his journeys to Earth will also be included in the displays, including a small stereo which plays Earth music, his own (and growing) collection of manga volumes, and Sho's secret stash of sake and liquorice sticks from Yomijou Keikoku, captain of the Third.

It shall also have an extension to Sho's own room, in which he will sleep. This is yet under construction, and planning, but when done, it will have enough room for four or more persons...and Sho's more personal things shall be kept in here.

The grounds of the office shall have, in addition to the enlarged pond and park that the Division already has, a training ground similar to the Eleventh but a bit tame in nature. It will also host a proving ground of some sort for Division members to test the strength of each other.

Being trusted to lead a Division, Sho quickly forgot about his own petty resolves and ambitions, and has since learned to think and strategize about the bigger picture. This has changed his personality into one of true maturity. Now Sho has learned to work well along with others, and look out for his own subordinates, and teammates.

As for love, well, surprises abound. Shogure will learn of this soon enough, as he learns new things everyday from being a captain.

Combat

Strengths

Reiatsu Coming from his time in the Eleventh Division, Sho had developed his strengths and weaknesses. He had completely forgotten whatever little training he had in kidō from the Academy; he, however, had developed an increasingly deep and strong reiatsu pressure, and a deep store of reiatsu.

Swordplay He had constantly trained himself in the arts and the intricacies of swordplay, and he had become one of the great masters of Zanjutsu. Going under the title of 'Disciple of the Blade', he wields his zanpaktou as if it was a physical attachment of his own body.

Speed and Strength Speed kills, and Sho, in his training, had achieved a definite degree of hohō training which is to be envied. He has also achieved a definite level of strength, which can be considered good enough for one who had been under the Kenpachi at one time.

Weaknesses

Depletion Relying on his uncanny reiatsu reserves, Sho's skills, most notably his bankai, are far too reiatsu-draining. Thus when Sho's reiatsu stores are drained, it takes a far longer time for him to fill it up again.

Kidō? What's that? Being in the Eleventh before meant that Sho neglected his kidō training from his Academy days...such that now, he has no knowledge whatsoever of kidō, and actually sometimes finds himself in trouble because of this.
