Appearance
Sensha is tall for his background, standing at a rough 5'10". Even after being dead for so long his body is still in top shape, prepared for anything and anyone he comes across. His face, though beaten over the years, is quite handsome, and graced with a kind of green eyes that seems to nearly glow with their brilliance. This man’s hair is also something quite the sight, a deep raven black that falls down his back and is usually kept in a pony tail or braid to keep it out of his way.
During regular duty he wears his traditional uniform. However, finding them restrictive he prefers a sleeveless top. This free's up his arms for use as proper weapons. His zanpakutō, Raijin, remains sheathed at his side. Raijin, being a tachi, is worn edge down and is slightly longer then a regular sealed zanpakutō.
Personality
His bravery and ferocity in a match is paralleled by his loyalty to friends and gentle heart. A good man to have by your side, there wasn’t a single person ever let down by Sensha in either life.
Being the type of person to never let anyone down, he is seen as an extremely reliable shinigami and is usually the first person to go to if something needs doing. This also means he stays relatively busy, but Sensha is one that likes hard work. Its very rewarding to finish a day knowing that you left things better then when you started, or so his philosophy is.
Though he does have a particular quirk that makes him all the more entertaining to be around. Whenever there is a woman involved, Sensha is something of a lady killer...or at least in his eyes. He'll surely go and speak with her/them and flirt, crack jokes, cook, anything to get their attention. Even if it makes him look like a fool
History
Sensha was born to a Father and mother only recently released from a Japanese internment camp in the US. His father quickly did what he could to find a home and a job, and did so in California working fields. Sensha was born to his father and mother in 1949.
As a child, he was always very scrawny and picked on by the local boys because of this. There was in fact one day that changed his life, where a group of older children cornered him and nearly beat him to death. He spent two weeks in the hospital recovering, and as he laid there all he could think of was getting stronger so a thing like that would never happen again. When he got out he asked to be put into martial arts, and his father went to San Diego to find what he could. As it turned out, there was a Muay Thai instructor visiting during a tournament. The instructor agreed to take Sensha with him on his travels, and train him as they went. His father saw this as an excellent chance for Sensha to grow and experience the world, and agreed to the terms. Later that week, Sensha was on his way to becoming the Muay Thai prodigy that he was known for in the ring.
Years of training under his master strengthened him, and at the age of 25 he was at the peak of his physical condition. He quickly became known as ‘Wind King’ for his quickness and flexibility, combined with lightning fast strikes. He’d also become well known for his charity and kindness, often visiting orphanages and schools to teach children in his off time. It was , in fact, one of these visits that was responsible for the end of his life.
On one visit to a particularly under-funded orphanage in the Bronx, he was cornered outside by two gunmen and shot three times in the chest. He died before he even made it to the hospital.
Awaking in Soul Society he had full memory of what had happened, and cared not for himself but the wellness of the children that he cared for. Over time, he began helping around some of the poorer districts. He saw the need to protect those that could not protect themselves, and eventually learned of the shinigami that protected soul society and those on Earth. It was then he made his decision to become one of these shinigami.
Through the years he joined the academy, and passed. It was more difficult for Sensha then most, as he was not particularly skilled with his katana. But over time he managed to get by.
Currently seated in the 10th division, Sensha is a skilled teacher of the martial arts. As brutal as he is with his students, not a one under him has failed their exams and gone on to be successful shinigami. He has also been recognized for his tactical capabilities, being able to strategize a plan in an instant. This has made him a valuable asset to the 13, and he continues his training daily for strength.
Combat
Strengths
Sensha's ferocity in battle is unmatched, and the brutality of his fighting style can make many cringe at the crunching of his opponents bones. His zanpakuto is also very well rounded, complimenting is own fighting style well and strengthening his resistance to kido based attacks.
Weaknesses
Sensha will sacrifice himself in a moment’s notice to protect others, which even though seen as a noble trait, is placed here as a weakness that can be used against him. Also, his attacks are all melee range save for the occasional use of kido, and while his shikai protects him some he is still pretty vulnerable to long range attacks.
