Appearance

Originally she appeared quite bookish, long dark hair, large round spectacles, sensible clothes, but upon being reassigned to the Field she reinvents herself. Shortish dark hair with a shock of silver running through and dark blue metallic high lights. She wears contact lenses because specs aren't particularly practical for field work.

She wears tight fitting clothes, lycra style long shorts that cling to the curves of her thighs, and a heavy weave but flexible body armour type bodice, basically what you see below. The colour scheme is generally black with blue twin-rail line stripes (as in my avatar, only a black background instead of white).

Personality

Oka has quite a fiery personality, one that was previously kept sharply reigned in when she was working in the Great Library at the Council's Headquarters. Others also didn't really get a taste of it as her job meant she didn't spend all that much time around people, instead shelving books and working in the stacks and archives. However with her re-assignment to the field of combat, her fiery, feisty nature has re-asserted itself. She is determined and often headstrong when listening to anybody elses suggestions, although she knows that in order to come up with the goods (relevant to training oneself) she needs to put the effort in. Despite being quite feisty outside of battle, in battle she exudes a cool, calm, aloof persona, stemming mostly from her confidence in her abilities as well as an equal degree of arrogance and haughtiness.

History

Oka was born into a long Family line of Quincy. Both her mother and father were Quincy, her father's parents were Quincy, and their parents and so on. As such her Family name had gained a certain degree of Gravitas amongst the Quincy of Japan. So it came to be that very shortly after her birth, her Grand-father, now in his fifties was given a highly venerated position of a Seat on the Grand Council at the Quincy Grand Headquarters in Germany. Hence, at a young age, Oka was taken, along with her parents, to Germany. Her parents were however very reluctant to teach her the Quincy arts, fearing that doing so would only lead to putting her in danger, and as active Quincy themselves they feared for their only daughter's safety. So they made sure they found other things for her to do, jobs that would not put her in harms way. Ultimately though they realised she would stand a far better chance should anything happen, if she could defend herself. So they did begin to teach her, after much begging and umming and ahhhing. She began to learn her Quincy abilities at a much later time than the other young Quincy at the Monastery Fortress that was the Grand HQ of the Quincy Order. However she soon picked up the various teachings and developed quickly. However, her powers eventually plateaud out. To truly progress she needed to get out in the field and experience danger first hand itself. But her parents were simply not willing to let that happen. As such she found herself spending pretty much her entire teenage life working in the Great Library and Ancient Archives.

Over time activity at the Great Fortress began to lessen. Quincy were sent out to long term overseas posts, and some were sent out and never came back. New recruits were few and far between, to the extent that come the day she received that fateful message, the Fortress, aside from the Council members themselves, almost appeared to be operating on a skeleton crew. There was hardly anybody pacing and patrolling the vast endless corridors of the Fortress Monastery to console her upon the news of hearing her parents had been killed whilst out on a several month long mission in Japan. But there was little that could be done. She turned her emotions inwards and used them as resolve to harden herself, becoming embittered.

Eventually, several months later, her Grandfather called to speak to her in private. It had been the council's orders that she be sent back home out to a post in Japan. The reasons were several-fold. Firstly, her parents were part of a string of Quincy deaths in the area, and secondly, the Council, with so few members these days, simply could not spare the personnel and let potential mission agents be cooped up around libraries and archives all day. In a roundabout way, her prayers had been answered, now she finally got to go out into the big wide world and prove herself, both to her Grandfather and to the memory of her parents. She would show them that she could protect herself, and she would become strong, and defend the Pride of the Quincy Order.

Combat

Strengths

Strategically minded: able to process various options and scenarios and work them through her mind mid-battle at great speeds, can see several moves ahead.

Acrobatic: she is agile and limber, able to contort her body to dodge things beyond the range of the normal everyday battle-goer.

Weaknesses

Low physical strength: she relies on her ranged abilities and speed to help deliver the damage. If cornered up close and personal, or targeted on a front that requires her to use her physical strength things could go south very quickly for her.

Haughty: She is haughty and arrogant, stemming from her blood line, being the Grand-daughter of one of the Eldest Council members, as well as the last in her line. Her arrogance and haughtiness can easily be manipulated to become her downfall.
