Appearance
Nobuyuki appears to be rather skinny for someone in the 11th Division, but that solely due to the fact that he has a lean muscle build. That combined with his height of 6' 1", it's no wonder he looks skinny. Nobu himself is one of the odd shinigami, keeping up with the terms and style of the human world, he finds himself always adapting.
Because of his desire to keep up, he has gotten several tattoos on his arms as well as made some modifications to his shinigami uniform. These changes being he has taken off the arms to show his tattoos. He has also made the uniform tighter to make him appear more muscular as well as tied the belt in a manner as to which it appears to be a single band around his waist.
But going back to his physical appearance, Nobu's hair is more proof of his desire to keep up with the style of the human world. Before sporting incredibly long hair, Nobu now sports much shorter hair. The style in which it is kept leaves it so he never needs to style (never know when you have to wake up to join a battle). The color of his hair is a rather dark brown, almost appearing black which seems to match the color of his eyes. Another addition to his clothing are the sunglasses he sports on his face. Of course... he doesn't wear his sunglasses at night(lul, 80's), but he does wear them when not in battle and in sunlight, just a person preference of his.
Personality
Despite the division he is in, Nobu is a rather laid back and normally cool-headed person. He tends to fights when he deems the opponent worthy or when he's extremely bored he'll pick a fight with someone. He is very flirtatious in nature which seems to get him in trouble not only with many shinigami, but with spiritually aware humans as well. Hollows and Quincy? "Well... that's just nasty!" is the way Nobu would put it.
Nobu is often seen just laying/wandering around somewhere. He can't help but be by himself usually, it's not that he is a loner it's just he's used to being alone. Nobu is in fact incredibly social and if given the chance, will strike up a conversation with anyone.
While Nobu is indeed a laidback person and a natural rulebreaker, it doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy fighting... in fact... he loves it! The thrill of battle his something he's used to and if he is engaged in a good fight he tends to get lost in it. But while he does love fighting others, he also uses fighting as a way to judge people. It was something he'd trained to do from birth to death so it's just instilled in him.
Last, while Nobu is rather careless appearing, he does indeed have a serious side to him. When he is actually serious (which is incredibly rare), he is a force to be reckoned with. He won't back down and will push until he can't push anymore. Serious Nobu, unlike Reckless Nobu, isn't very cheerful and all happiness in is voice seems to fade. Many who know him refer to him as a second Nobu in that state since it is such a difference from the usual him.
History
Nobuyuki Murakami, name not very significant or important in human history, but a name in it nonetheless. Nobu was born into Japan during the Muramachi period of the feudal era. To be more exact, the Sengoku period. From birth to death, all Nobu knew was war. War between this clan and that clan, or this clan and another clan, where he was born it was a constant state of war.
From the moment he could walk, he was taught in the ways of war and the way of the warrior. When he wasn't training physically, he was training mentally. When he wasn't training, he was resting. There was no free time for him, that was until his clan was wiped out at the age of 19. By this age, Nobu was an incredibly skillful warrior, being able to wield to katanas in combat was well as hold his own with his bare hands. Sadly that was even enough to save anyone in his clan during the massacre. He had been knocked unconscious early on and left for dead.
When he awoke, there was nothing but fire and death, everything he had ever known was gone. So being the last of his clan, Nobu vowed revenge on the one who had taken away the life he had known. That was when he died mentally. From that point, it took 4 years to track down the clan that had murdered his clan and in those four years he had grown tremendously. When he met with the clan again, he had one thing in mind... the death of their leader.
It was a hard battle, while he managed to take down many in his path, they had managed to inflict lots of damage and wear him down in turn. But it was all worth as he finally made his way to their leader. With weapons drawn, he spoke. He wanted to know why? Why did he have to order everything destroyed? But upon being meeting only silence and reinforcements, Nobu knew he would advance no more.
As he turned to face those that had arrived to save their clan head, Nobu felt a katana rip through him. Turning to see that the clan head did it in an attempt to save his people from further death. With his last dying actions, Nobu brought himself together with the clan head and drove the katana through himself, killing both himself and the clan head. That was when he died physically.
Getting the revenge he sought, Nobu was able to pass immediately upon death. The afterlife was much kinder than the life Nobu had experienced. He grow up in a poor but friendly district of Rukongai. With a new, battle free life, Nobu was able to make new friends and change from the war tattered person he had grown to be in life.
Although it took many years, Nobu had grown to become the person he is now. Yes, he indeed fought with people, but it had become for fun rather than to survive. The old him had been locked away, thought never to return. Though his new life was much greater than his past, one thing was odd about it. Unlike many others, Nobu still needed to eat to survive. With time he began to realize what he was and when that time had come, he was recruited into the shinigami academy.
It was there that he excelled greatly in all but kidō. Because of his great skill and strength, he was drafted into the 11th division. It was there that he would meet yet another death, but this time, not his own. After many years within the 11th division, there had been a serious hollow attack that need their assistance. A leech-type hollow was attacking and had managed to wipe out several units of shinigami and heavy force would be needed.
With that, it was Nobu's unit that was sent out. But they too met demise, whether Nobu knew it or not. The battle itself was great, but in the end, Nobu gave himself to save his friends. The leech-type hollow absorbed Nobu after being mortally wounded by him. The hollow returned to Hueco Mundo to recover, but with Nobu's immense reiatsu and power, the hollow was brought to a level it never thought it'd experience and became power hungry.
The hollow went on a rampage, killing not only humans and shinigami, but its own kind as well, needing more power. But... it never discarded Nobu because of how he was. For 100 years, Nobu remained alive within the beast, trapped in an unconscious state. But finally, after 100 long years of his ability and power being leached out of him, the beast finally met it's end. Dying by the hand of Captain shinigami, the hollow had discarded Nobu in hopes of absorbing this shinigami. In the end it met it's death and the return of Nobu.
Nobu remained in his state for several days, staying in the 4th division's hospital while his body recovered. When Nobu finally came to, it was revealed to him what had happened and how things were. He was then questioned and testing, eventually being returned to the 11th division. Even though he was returned to his division, things had changed greatly in the 100 years he was gone. Not only that, but his once immense power was stunted and forced into a sleeping state by the hollow that had absorbed him. With a new life, it is unknown what Nobu will meet, but what is known... is that he's back and he's ready to live.
Combat
Strengths
He has brute strength even though he doesn't appear to - his zanpakutō is a twin-type thus with a released one he can be more of a challenge - he's used to fighting with two swords but can fight with one on the same level - he is skilled with his hands as well as his swords.
Weaknesses
He's horrible with most kidō(he can use the most basic stuff) - when he is in a battle he enjoys he gets too into, neglecting anything not concerned with the battle - while he has his battle maniac state, if his friends are in he will put his life on the line to protect them.
