Appearance
Nobu is roughly 6 feet tall, 7 inches; a tall, lanky young man for his age. His hair reaches the middle of his back, roughly to his ribs; Most of it is slicked to the back, aside from a single bang which hangs down in front. It is a mixture of red and brown; His father, being a red-head, and his mother being aubun. He has a rare condition known as heterochromia; In other words, both of his eyes are two different colors. His left one is blue, whilst his right eye is a light brown.
Most often, Nobu wears a long, black cloak with a hood, which covers up most of his body; His lower legs, and parts of his face, are all the can be seen from beneath it. Underneath the cloak, however, is where Nobu keeps any and all items and artifacts related to his quincy strength.
Personality
Nobu is a level-headed, tempered young man. Due to his upbringing, he has little patience for jokers, and those who oppose him are well-enough dead in his mind. He doesn't have many, if any friends, and all of his allies are associates of battle alone; He doesn't hang out with friends, or socialize with anyone unless necessary. He likes to live a life a quiet solitude, to be alone while he sorts out his thoughts; Therefore, in the presence of 'chatty' people, he can be a little irritable.
His mental state is constantly varied; Most usually, he likes to be alone, but as a human being, the thought of being around people who he can identify with constantly bugs him. He is not ascetic, though he acts it; He longs for the idea of relationships with others, but puts his pride and honor as a quincy before anything else. He will most always be seen with a conflicted look upon his face, a mixture of disdain and apathy.
In battle, Nobu is level-headed and callous; He doesn't normally take a step out of line when it comes to the traditional bow-and-arrow method of quincy hunters. He's capable of thinking outside the box to take care of odd situations but will most normally stick with his bread and butter strategies to take care of opponents. He is not cocky, nor selfish in any situation; His mind is as unbiased as the sky is blue.
History
Nobu Kobayashi was born in Nagoya, Japan, on the first day, of the first month. His father, Nobunara, a profound quincy in his own right, marked his birth as a point of 'rebirth', for a new generation of quincy; His generation would usher in the next 'evolution' of quincy to carry on their tradition with great honor.
Therefore, with such great standards came great training. Nobunara, a powerful quincy, expected his son to not only meet his level, but also surpass him; No son of his would live up to be less than the name of his father. And therefore from birth, Nobu was raised, conditioned and trained to be an exemplary quincy. He was taught to fend off hollows at a very young age, with or without the use of reiatsu, and learned hunting strategies whenever he wasn't being physically trained.
All the stress and constant pressure of surpassing his parents affected Nobu. It made him a harder, less-sociable person, but it also taught him the value of hard work and preserverance. It brought about a 'never say die' attitude in the child, who never truly had a 'childhood' to begin with. He didn't have friends, and though he was brought up to be sociable enough to communicate in the commonplace, he never saw much use for engaging in such things as 'hanging out'.
Soon, the time came where Nobu was ready to venture out on his own, and travel from underneath the wings of his father. And thus, he traveled from his home in Nagoya, to Okumichi town, where he quietly began a life of solitude alone to continue to develop his quincy abilities, and uphold the honor and tradition of his family and clan on his own. Doing so would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he had truly lived up to and surpassed his father expectations, and had grown to become a far greater quincy than he could ever have imagined.
Combat
Strengths
Good side of a Ranged Fighter: Nobu is highly proficent with long-ranged attacks, due to his training with a quincy bow. With distance on his side, he outclasses most close-ranged fighters.
Weaknesses
Dark side of a Ranged Fighter: As a quincy, Nobu's primary fighting style revolves around long-ranged attacks; Close range isn't his forte.
