Appearance
Leon is a lanky, well built man inherent of most people with his...unique recreational activities. He stands at a rough six foot two inches(6'2), tall for most people. He's also nicely tanned, having a habit of wearing as little that is allowed during the day. Leon's eyes are a yellowy-light brown characteristic of his family. Leon's hair is possibly his most unique trait, as the long black strands are usually in some kind of braid, locked, or pony-tailed. His hair is long enough to usually reach the back of his legs; nearly as long as an average person is tall.
Leon's shinigami uniform has been altered to his own preferences. He replaced the traditional top with an open, sleeve-less vest and no undershirt to expose his toned and tanned chest. His shoes were also traded in for some solid runners so he can actually move comfortably(and he didn't really like being another two inches above everyone with the Japanese clogs. To protect his hair, possibly his favorite asset, he carries his ōdachi-styled weapon in his left hand.
Personality
Many have come to know Leon through out both of his lives, and both groups can say he is an honestly good guy. Friendly, social, and charitable when given the opportunity. He also has a reasonable, if but a little childish, sense of humor. His only downfall would likely be his addiction with women. In his life he practically was with a new one every week or two. He honestly couldn't help himself. Being a shinigami now has slowed his pursuit of the opposite sex, if only a little, but he still flirts when ever given the chance. He figures he's dead, so what can happen...right?
History
Leon grew up in a privileged family in Miami, a city known for its opportunity as well as its women. Growing up he wanted for nothing, and experimented in all kinds of fun things. Martial arts, music, cycling(both powered and other wise), diving; the list goes on and on. He did find something to be passionate about extremely early, a sport called free-running. It's what gave him his claim to fame, as he became one of the youngest professional free-runner's in the industry at 16.
From his career he entered into movies, talk shows, guesting at sports rallies, the x-games, and any number of charity events. In fact, it was at a charity event that he lost his life. In December of 2004, a week before his birthday, he was asked to do a demonstration at the Jacksonville Landing in Jacksonville, Florida. It was part of a series of demo's meant to promote recreational free running, so naturally he was more then happy to oblige. Unfortunately, it was raining that day and the whole event was nearly canceled. Leon foolishly decided against it, saying there was a crowd that needed pleasing and he wasn't one to leave them hanging. Climbing to the top of the landmark, Leon found himself on a slippery surface in a windy environment...but the show must go on. The landing was outfitted with letters at its highest point spelling out its name, and he climbed these two. At the top of the "L" was where he met his demise, slipping after reaching its peak and falling to the pavement below. He broke his neck, but lived just long enough to give a weak smile at the sight of the cloudy sky...the one place he couldn't go with his arms or legs.
Awakening in Seireitei lead Leon through some new experiences. He had no recollection of why he was there, and no idea who he really was. Rukongai was a rough place, but he found out quickly that he was more then capable of handling himself. Over time, he developed an appetite, something that was apparently unique to the roving shinigami's that he saw maintaining the peace around the districts.
It didn't take much longer for his curiosity to peak, and he joined the shinigami academy to see what the big deal was. He learned about reiatsu, the cause of his hunger, and what it meant to protect the people. This really rang true with him, feeling that it was something he would of done in his past life (as Leon also learned that he was also very much dead at the academy). He really found himself at the academy, and it wasn't too long before he graduated and took a placement in the gotei 13 as a unseated of the third division. Here his maneuverability was extremely useful in the pursuit and consequential removal of hollows in the living world.
Combat
Strengths
Leon's unique background makes him incredibly agile and flexible, unusual for someone of his size. He also is prone to using his long legs and arms as a range advantage over average opponents. Lastly, his habit of training in free-running also allotted some time in experimenting in more graceful martial arts like capoeira and tai chi, all in all leading to a very well rounded combatant.
Weaknesses
Because of his large stature, Leon is one hell of a target and even though he is extremely agile for someone of his size, he still suffers from speed when it comes to fighting opponents much shorter then he.
