Kyuuketsuki (Vampire) is Matsudi Akitou's Zanpakutō.
Unreleased Kyuuketsuki is a plain looking katana with a black sheathe and hilt. The guard is square rather than round, and bares the depiction of a strange devil-like creature.

Spirit Description
Kyuuketsuki is a quiet and intimidating figure, never usually speaking much more than is necessary, and seeming to show some disdain for the behavior of his master. At times Kyuuketsuki can become hungry, and will break his calm exterior by demanding bloodshed so that he might feed, if unsatisfied over longer amounts of time he will become wild.
Shikai
Release Command: Lift the coffin's lid, Kyuuketsuki.
Upon entering Shikai the Zanpakutō changes very little, the blade turns blood red and glows slightly, other than that it looks the same as in its unreleased form.
Shikai Abilities
Vampire Feeding (passive)
Whenever Kyuuketsuki cuts someone their blood is absorbed by the blade and converted into reiatsu, which steadily causes Kyuuketsuki's blade to glow more brightly. The blade can absorb a maximum of one pint of blood. This effect only works when in direct contact with blood. The amount of converted reiatsu can only go as high as Matsudi's own reiatsu, causing Matsudi to double his reiatsu at maximum. The blood must be fresh and come from a recent injury.
Vampiric Allure
Using half a pint of gathered blood, Matsudi can take control of a person's mind for a maximum of ten seconds, making them follow his every command. This requires first making eye contact to hypnotize the foe but eye contact can be broken when the hypnosis is completed, at which point Matsudi must remain utterly focused on giving commands i.e. He can't fight while controlling a person. If focus is broken then the target will immediately be freed. Can only be used twice each release. The ability cannot effect those who are blind as eye contact is an absolute necessity, those with more than two eyes would also escape the allures grip as Matsudi couldn't make eye contact with all three. While controlling someone, Matsudi can make them do almost anything though Kyuuketsuki will not allow Matsudi to command the target to commit suicide, as Kyuuketsuki accepts only live prey. If they move a distance of more than fifteen meters from him the hypnosis will also break. He cannot allure more than one person at a time.
Kyuuketsuki Kousen
This ability fires a red burst of focused reiatsu in the direction the blade's swing and fires perpendicular to the blade, moving through the air at the angle the blade was swung. The attack is considerably powerful and on a par to a hollow's rank 3 cero but moves at only moderate speed, making it easily dodged by experienced hohō users with rank 3 or above. Rank 2 could also avoid it as long as they were more than ten meters from the firing point. The ability can be used as many times as Matsudi likes when releasing Shikai, but requires half a pint of gathered blood to use, and can be made to use more than half a pint to increase the strength of the attack.
Strengths
Relies on the ability to fight at close range, which is Matsudi's specialty.
Can fire a ranged ability of considerable power which is an ability Matsudi usually lacks.
Can temporarily hypnotize a person.
Weaknesses
Relies on the ability to land blows. Neither of Kyuuketsuki's abilities can be used without first absorbing at least half a pint of blood to convert into reiatsu.
Physically taxing. Like any vampire, Kyuuketsuki feeds on anyone it can to survive, if unable to strike a foe Kyuuketsuki will take to feeding on Matsudi's reiatsu for nourishment.
