Appearance
Garrion stands at an impressive 6 ft 8, with a relatively slim build, pale purple eye's and dark nearly black hair with pale skin. While he typically wears long flowing hooded robes of deep black he also carries a large tome, this tome is bound in chains that fasten over his shoulder and coils around his waist to acts as a belt. Garrion also wears full plate gauntlets and greaves with metal clad boots.
Personality
Mildly detached and standoffish, Garrion often comes across as unfriendly, yet this is simply because he thinks to much, often looking to far ahead in a conversation and missing his own cue to reply or assumes that everyone else already knows the core of his reply's without further prompting. Garrion is keenly interested in anything new and loves to figure out how things work, often becoming adsorbed in these tasks to the exclusion of everything else, often including his own health.
History
Born in Roman London Garrion grew up in a stable family and was apprenticed to an engineer. Throughout his life he continued to pursue additional crafts from stone masonry and carpentry to stars gazing, science and religious theory. At the time of his death he was considered eccentric and more than a little mad and yet his many inventions gained him wealth and power, most of which he buried in the English countryside just in case it would be stolen.
After his death of natural causes when his lab exploded, Garrion wandered all over the world, recording history and inventions, writing down everything that interested him whether that be a new catapult designs or the life time of a semi famous painter. It was in this time that he was dragged to soul society by a pair of shinigami who had to stop him from murdering the poet William Shakespeare who Garrion considered the bane to all art forms, to this day he has never forgiven them.
His training was delayed for a long time as he started to research his new home, slowly building up knowledge of spirit particles and how to manipulate them, Garrion spent a many years attempting to apply his new knowledge to the technology and theorems of his living days. when he found his research stunted he joined the academy where he excelled at basic Kidō and advanced theory.
Garrion almost failed the academy after almost destroying a study hall while practicing energy compression. This cost him greatly in both favors with the instructors and pain as the blast had ripped his arm off near the shoulder. His graduation was made conditional of joining the 12th Division after his arm reattachment and the finding of his sword that had been lost in the blast.
Garrions arm was Successfully restored and he agreed to join the 12th, luckily almost no one has asked if his sword ever turned up and the wooden replica seems to have fooled the few that did.
Combat
Strengths
Calculating: Garrion will not be rushed, rarely reacts to being surprised and fights at his own pace, often this leaves his enemies burning through their spirit strength long before he even gets serious.
Magetastic: Garrion loves spells, bending spirit energy into new forms and effects keeps him amused for days at a time, this has let him develop a rather wide range of spells for varying purposes.
Resilient: Pain is an abstract to be ignored if necessary, Garrion just doesn't get exited about pain and merely keeps tract of the accumulating damage, this lets him accurately judge his remaining stamina and retreat when in danger of death rather than when he's merely hurting badly.
Inventor: Garrion is often tinkering with old and modern designs and applying that to spirit based technology, often with interesting results, although this has often put him in the hands of the 4th division.
Weaknesses
Distracted: Anything new can grab his attention and distract him from the task at hand, sometimes nearly fatally.
Weak: After several centuries of wandering, doing nothing more that writing and sketching has left Garrion's physical strength lacking, for this reason he often avoids melee combat if he can.
Historian: More than once Garrion has found himself documenting a battle that he should be helping in, somehow slipping into the role of none aligned observer rather than staying in his assigned role of a shinigami.
Weak vs Women: Garrion has an eye for the new and the interesting, But often find that new and interesting women can shatter his will with nearly a glance, he has a tough time refusing their requests.
Accident prone: For Garrion things go wrong, often even the simplest experiments can leave him wounded and bleeding, he once researched why the world hated him so much but broke of experimentation in order to live longer.
Swordless:
Garrion lost his sword in an explosion and has yet to find it, till he does he keeps a wooden replica under his robe to fool others, Garrion has the theory that he actually achieved Shinkai in someway and that has allowed his blade to avoid him.
