Appearance
Finley stands fairly tall at an inch short of six feet, but his skinny frame makes him seem larger. His skin is paler than it should be, mostly due to not going outside all that often, and his hair, which was once brown, has since been bleached blonde and is cut very close to his head. One of his eyebrows is pierced, and the clothing he chooses to wear signifies the kind of lifestyle he chooses to lead, hard wearing leathers and jeans give a punk's attitude but mean he can roll around in the dirt for as long as he likes, he ain't no prettyboy.
Personality
Finn lives a life that largely contradicts whatever authority figures tell him to do. Broken away from the stuffy influence of his parents in his teens, he decided to become a punk, and a punk he remains, not as extreme as most, but it lets him leave the explanations of who he is to the way he dresses and acts. That's not to say he's quiet, though, Finley loves to talk, not so much in a narcissistic way, but more that he's outspoken and has an opinion on practically everything, usually filled with a bit of cynicism. He likes to think this outlook on life makes him seem stronger and more independent, he doesn't need anyone really, he can deal with things himself.
Beneath that contradictory attitude though lies a chivalric heart, something he tries to hide at every turn. It's partly his do-gooder nature and his habit of even wanting to help those who could probably deal with a problem themselves that he's ashamed of, but the other shame of course comes from the fact that beyond a bit of chivalry, he's a bit flat emotionally. Caring and friendly he may be naturally, but without the uncaring and cynical act he keeps up, he might as well just be another guy in the crowd. He wants to be different.
History
The Greens are a family of accountants and lawyers, slimy and despicable sorts that allied themselves to whatever power there was to ensure their cushy lifestyle was prolonged, at least until they had enough to die comfortably anyway. It'd been like this since the dawn of the clan. They even say (they being the members of the Green family particularly bitter over their heritage) that you can hear mention of the family alongside records of Robert the Bruce.
It was true descendants of the Green title that Finley was born to, his mother an adviser to the government, and his father a respected banker. Despite being a Scottish family, he'd known London all his life, and his parents hardly even had a twang of the accent. He was expected to follow in his father's footsteps, and even from being a toddler, he despised that idea. There were, of course, more attractive members of his family, like his exiled great uncle, who bucked the trend by becoming an architect and moving to Africa or somewhere remote like that. Good riddance, his father had said, and for the rest of the family, well they acted as if old Robbie Green had never existed.
Needless to say, the destest he had of following in his father's footsteps didn't leave him even as he grew up to gain some respect for the man. He was good at what he did, but Finn would never go into the finance industry himself, he wasn't suited to it (and behind his back, even his father agreed with that). He wanted to be everything his parents were not, an artist, a rock musician, something creative. But of course those stuffy old coots would rather die than see their son become some jobless artisan like his great uncle.
By the time he was twelve, Finn had tried to run away from home twice, and was constantly thinking up new methods to escape the watchful eyes of his parents and make a life of his own. He'd managed to get most of the way through his expensive education by the time he finally made a big break for it, and at sixteen he knew the City well enough to get by. And besides, he knew people, it'd be easy. Or so he thought.
Weird stuff started happening around then, seeing heat shimmers and only half of some people, turned out the people he knew could see this sort of thing too. It wouldn't take long for him, though his friends and contacts, to find someone who could explain everything. Turned out he was seeing the dead, and the heat shimmers were something a whole lot sinister than that. It'd take him two years to fully develop his sight, and by then his little network of friends had grown into a sort of coven, they weren't witches, well, some of them thought they were, but they shared a spiritual connection with the afterlife, and spent many an evening getting high and trying to fully understand the nature of it.
Being experienced depends on your point of view, your opinion of the word. But Finn liked to think he was experienced in his ways, he knew people, and that was his biggest strength. If he didn't know something, he could ask someone else, and if that failed, then he could always hold a séance, they always came in handy. He learned about the (sort of) true history of the world, with people like Hercules being based on real people who just so happened to have phenomenal strength. He found out about Quincies, and Hollows, and those weird guys in black robes.
He was twenty by the time he learned everything he needed to know, and making a living here and there, working in bars, temping with job agencies. It made enough money to pay for food, as for living, they squatted wherever they could, sometimes they got arrested, spent a night in a central-heated prison cell, but nothing particularly bad. He and his mates had a way with words, they'd not go to prison, he reckoned.
If he could've, he woulda travelled around, but instead he stayed put, travelling about the City, even fighting a few Hollows (or rather, letting others do it, some of his friends developed... powers, like shooting beams of light and other nifty stuff, nothing like that for Finn, he organised stuff).
He never really had a reason to change location. Not at least until a friend of a friend of a contact heard that some guy in Okumichi City had been kidnapped under mysterious circumstances. Kinda big in the spiritual scene over there, called Desmond Green. The name was familiar, and from what he could find in an internet café, he was the son of old Robbie.
Without further adieu, he got a plane ticket to Japan, he could make his way to Okumichi from Tokyo, it'd be easy...
Combat
Strengths
Street Fighter - What he may lack in conventional training, or even special powers. Finn is an experienced brawler. During his time living on the edge in London he got into a fair few fights, he can handle himself. He can't break blocks of wood with his hands, but he can bruise a guy.
Swift - His lanky frame isn't built for endurance or speed, but he can dodge and weave like the best of them, a skill augmented somewhat by his experience in the streets.
Experienced - Finn has lived in the spiritual world from quite a young age, he doesn't know anything concrete, but he's encountered nearly every form of spirit, he knows more or less how to act around them, could bluff his way through a conversation about them.
Weaknesses
Proud - Finn prides in his apparent apathy, he may be a noble knight in armour beneath it all, but he's sort of willing to endanger others if the situation doesn't seem too bad, to make his badass appearance keep up. The only problem is sometimes that not so bad situation could escalate, and then he'd start kicking himself.
Not very quick - Finn isn't very fast on his feet, he can dodge and weave like the best of them, but as far as running's concerned, he's only as fast as the average dude. The fact he's a smoker doesn't help too much either, after an hour or so of running, he'll be tired out.
