Appearance
Personality
On the outside, Elmira appears as a romantic, highly attractive young woman, which she usually appears as to most, but that is only a fraction of her true persona. She has experienced much in her 4000+ years of living, so she’s not easily surprised. Given all of this time she’s had to live, Elmira knows how to handle herself as a dignified woman after studying humans for as long as she’s had to. She keeps her emotions well under-control, but she’s not as entranced in apathy as to neglect her feelings, but the feelings she holds towards other don’t come easily as she has a huge list of negatives to hold against them first.
One really big passion she has is the love of piano music. Her skills with the piano, sharpened over 600 years of experience, are virtually unrivaled. Elmira can be found playing the piano whenever she has nothing else to do or is in deep thought. To her, the sound a piano is as precious & serious as a child’s cry. The piano can be found as the key to her feelings (since she lacks a heart), and it is one secret she will defend with her life to keep people from finding out. Although she likes to have an audience whenever she plays the piano, she will often play it alone to keep her secret safe.
History
Elmira was born at roughly 2000 BCE to a primal couple on the Spanish Plateau that would become Madrid in the future. Unfortunately, she did not last long as she died shortly after birth, leaving her to become a soul and wander the wastes of the natural world, alone and nearly mindless. Eventually she would become extraordinarily hungry, and it was this hunger that drove her mad in her premature form, transforming into a bright blue, almost frail-looking, skin-and-bones hollow with a hollow hole in the center of her chest and a mask bearing spines on top of it, leading up to her extraordinarily long hair and her dagger-forked tail. Her main weapons were her hands back then, having the dagger-like fingers to spear and catch souls to devour.
Back then she had little opposable threats and was free to travel the world, eating souls as she saw fit. Eventually this gave her the strength to break into Hueco Mundo, feeling content on just staying in the white sands of the new world until she developed the intelligence to speak with the help of fellow hollows who resided there. However, Elmira, now renamed “Seraphine,” developed her intelligence to a decent level of what was available back then, and her life would continue like this for the next couple hundred years, studying humans and learning how they lived as well as died.
Elmira’s evolution into a Hollow Alto came when she was able to devour a shinigami, and from then on she became power hungry. She wanted more than just regular souls, so she went out seeking as many shinigami as possible and devouring then when Seraphine got the chance. A couple of decades later, devouring shinigami wasn’t enough, and then she began to resort to hollow cannibalism. The result was her growing into a Gillian-class Menos Grande. Elmira became much bigger than she had anticipated, but found it unusually difficult to remain in control when she had consumed as many hollows as she had.
In continuing on the evolution path, Elmira proceeded to become an Adjuchas-class Menos, devouring another Gillian in the process. She experienced a wealth of power, but it was like a drug to her, and she only wanted more when she was feeling a little down. As she devoured a few more of the Menos, she evolved into what they called the Vasto Lorde, the most human-like of all hollows. But then she went cold turkey on power, having all of it she could muster up after two thousand years of evolution. Since there was nothing more she could do to gain more power, so she slipped into the sands of the land she called “Hueco Mundo,” translated from the “Hollow World” she had heard other hollows call it. From then on, she overlooked the human race, watching it evolve just as she had.
It wasn’t until the turn of the 14th century that she devoted a wealth of her power into shattering her mask, becoming what she called an “Arrancar” in accordance with the Spanish language that had taken root among the humans of her homeland. Then, using her abilities the Japanese people called ‘reiatsu’, Elmira formed a set of attractive clothing that would set her apart from the ‘shinigami’ that had tried to kill her as a pure hollow. Then she went out into the world, observing its changes and the people within it. It was during the 17th century that she heard a piano for the first time, and the music captured all of her thoughts & feelings as she lacked a heart. From then on she stole a fake body and learned how to play one, even taking the instrument with her back to Hueco Mundo for further practice.
With her new ‘musica,’ Elmira attracted more of the Arrancar and started a movement. Together, when brushing up on the history of Hueco Mundo, Elmira and her Arrancar buddies reformed the Legion Blanca del Hueco Mundo (“The White Legion of the Hollow World,” an army made of Menos & Arrancar, declaring herself the first and most powerful of the Legion, which she rightfully was. Ever since then, they’ve lay dormant in Hueco Mundo, waiting for the right chance to act against the ‘Soul Society’ that had tried to kill them indiscriminately. She is a ruling body in Hueco Mundo: of the hollows, by the hollows, and for the hollows, and she will do whatever it takes to restore Hueco Mundo to its former glory.
Combat
Strengths
- Hand to Hand combat: As the 1st of the Legion Blanca, Elmira is an undisputed master of hand-to-hand combat with both hands and feet. Even ranged weapons aren’t a threat to her.
- Reiatsu: After 4000 years of evolution and a Vasto-Lorde class Arrancar, Elmira is a force to be reckoned with. She has excellent power over her reiatsu and all techniques that are fueled by it. Even so, she isn’t a master of them.
- Intuition: With all of the time she’s had to study humans, she knows how to act like one to the best of her abilities. She can use every advantage women have over men, and is not afraid to use a man’s advantages as well.
Weaknesses
- Piano music: Elmira can’t fight well, if not at all, when she’s listening to the sound of a piano. She finds it too precious to ruin with combat. Not to mention, she’s very good at playing one too.
- Attack on sight: Elmira hates shinigami, just as all hollows do, but since she’s in a position of power, she can’t be seen doing a fair deal with one, so she must hate them as well as lead her own kind against them; she will kill them if she’s anywhere near one.
- Long Hair: As Elmira has very long hair, and it is easy to be grabbed by an opponent. It angers her beyond a safe level, and any who do so often don’t live.
- Sensitive Lungs: An unusual weakness in itself, but Elmira's lungs are very susceptible to anything other than air & spiritual particles. This means if she breathed in something like a foreign gas or a poisonous fume, it would affect her almost twice as fast as it would any regular human.
