Appearance
Dean has a typical Asian appearance, black hair, hazel brown eyes and short, a measly 168 centimeters. Evenly tanned and with a moderate build Dean can be summarized as an average man. With no distinctive features or outstanding traits he can easily blend into a crowd. However, for the ones that know him, it seems it is impossible for him to disappear.
His hair is jet black and spiked up with a fringe extending to the his mouth. The fringe is parted to expose his face with increasing length. When wet the hair droops down with the longest strands falling to his cheek.
Personality
Dean is an outgoing young man, willing to jump into any situation. However, he is shy around new people. This timid personality has caused the development of his arrogance as compensation to show he is capable of doing some things well. But this arrogance can get the better of him, causing him to be reckless and ignorant at times.
Dean is looks young but is very wise but still willing to learn anything, capable of working great under pressure, and can be a helpful person.
History
Dean was born in Hong Kong in 1964. During the time he was born Hong Kong was just growing, born as a HK baby boomer he was one of the 1.5 million people under the age of 25.
Growing up he was one of the smarter kids in school. He grew up like every other kid in every other part of the world, he was an average kid. He grew up in Hong Kong as Hong Kong itself grew. Freeways, MTR, under water tunnels and the now famous skyline.
In 1985 with the population at 5.5 million, Dean died. During the final few days of school, Dean was walking home with a group of friends. Not paying attention Dean crossed the road into on coming traffic. Dean died of injuries sustained when a taxi collided into him.
Dean awoke in the grasses of Rukongai, the only thing he could remember was the name Dean Chaos. He didn't even know if that was his name. Wandering the town he found a place to stay, a small run down dim sim shop. He helped with the running of the small shop as a form of payment of living in the shop. But, living in the small shop seemed to be boring. Ironically, he needed a new life, he needed more than what he had now.
Like a scene from a movie he caught a glimpse of art. Even though his soul had no memories of his kendo times when he was alive, he felt an urge. The movement of the shinigami as he moved through the air and slicing away. The shinigami was practicing his sword skills in the field. It was one of the most significant and amazing things Dean had seen in a long time. As cheesy as it was, Dean wanted to become the shinigami he saw.
He knew the difficult path it would to be to become a shinigami but he had the will to do so. Dean quickly enrolled into shinigami academy and began the long training. It took several years of hard training for Dean to achieve his dream of being a shinigami. Upon his graduation from the academy Dean quickly entered service with the 13th Division and was taught the ropes early on. Being the new kid in town meant Dean had to do many odd jobs before being accepted by the other members.
Now serving the 13th Division as a regular member Dean hopes to one day fight like the shinigami he saw.
Combat
Strengths
An Excellent swordsman, being a kendo student while still in the real world may have contributed to this. This may be from his reflexes and subconscious spatial awareness. Kidō, through his hard work during his training he was able to master many forms of kidō.
Weaknesses
Communication skills, this flows on to team work and taking commands. Dean can be so shy that he becomes confused and disregards orders or arrogant and disregard orders, thinking he knows best.
