Release Command: Humour me, Comedia!
After releasing his zanpakutō Arlecchino undergoes several noticeable changes. While he remains around the same size and humanoid in shape his appearance is very different. His body is covered in a diamond pattern body suit. The diamonds are all coloured in either: red, blue, yellow or black. Around his neck is a large black collar with shaped like a star. Two of its four points come down in front of his chest and two hang down by his back. Each of the points are tipped with a single silver bell. Similar to the collar the wrists of the body suit are also flayed and end in bell tipped points. In addition, his palms widen and his fingers elongate, into sleek clawed hands coloured completely black. His feet are covered in a pair of pointed, diamond pattern, shoes that are in fact just as sharp as any one of his claws.
His head is covered entirely in a black featureless mask, the only exception o it being the large crescent like smile that stretches from, where either ear would be. The toothy smile itself is more like a row of ivory daggers and the closes it comes to diminishing is the twitching of the sides of the mouth.
The final addition is the immense, (20 ft long and 12 ft high, unchanged and unfolded, more or less rectangular in shape ), black cloak that Arlecchino wears on top of this all. He either wears it wrapped tightly around him self with a hood pulled over his head or he wraps it around his arms and allows it to trail behind him.
Resurrección Abilities
Comedia Dell’arrte
The main ability of this resurrecíon, it harnesses the inner madness of Arlecchino’s own mind and exudes it like an aura. Anyone close enough to see Arlecchino’s smile clearly, note they do need to actually see it, though it does make it more effective, is subject to Comedia’s effect. The actual effect varies on whether Arlecchino is actively focusing on it, how powerful the victim is and how long they are subjected to it. At its weakest Comedia simply causes his opponents sense to ‘blur’, particularly vision is hampered by this ‘blur’ and his clothing, causing the colours to swim and mask his movements. At this point they can hear a quiet chuckle echoing in their ear. Towards the mid range the madness will start drawing upon hidden fears and sad memories of the victim and attempt to draw them to the forefront of their mind. At this point the chuckle usually grows to an actual laugh not echoing this time but sounding directly in their ear. But when it is truly at its strongest Comedia dell’arte starts to utterly warp his victims vision, instead of normal they will see, hear, smell and in some cases feel, their worst fears and memories come true around them, the terrain around them warps becomes the stuff of nightmares, Arlecchino and even the victims own allies start to look like people the victims hates or fears. Once this point is reached their ears our filled with a horrible cackle that sounds all around them and refuses to stop.
Comedia de Capa y Espada
Bauta’s ability allows him to shift and mould the cloak part of his body into different shapes and forms, as well as hardening the cloak enough to function as an effective piece of armour or shield or a cutting weapon, though it still lacks weight as a bludgeoning weapon. It also allows him to change the colour and pigmentation on his cloak like a chameleon can with its skin but to a much greater extent. This effect’s his entire body. But generally works best with his cloak, particularly when trying to blend in with his surroundings. The ability in whole is pretty much a stronger version of the Crezca he possessed as the hollow Bauta. The major difference is that he no longer retains the power to grow back or lengthen the cloak, it is a fixed size and cannot be changed or fixed once damaged. Although if torn it can ‘sew’ it self back together, just not replace what has been lost. Instead he must create an entirely new one, doing this however turns the old cloak into plain cloth with no special properties and without the ability to control it. This does require a fair amount of spiritual power however as he is more or less reforming his zanpaktou.
In addition he cannot use any of the cloaks abilities unless he is actually touching it, it will retain its last form while being used once dropped or thrown, but only so long as it is in a reishi rich environment and he has not summoned a new cloak. However if he seals his resureccion the cloak remains in its last form, but is no longer connected spiritually to Arlecchino.
Strengths
No such thing as sanity, only degrees of insanity – At minimum Arlecchino can manage a little sway in the battle in his favour by masking his moves in the ‘blur’. However the more powerful the madness gets the more the favour will shift in his favour. A battle becomes much easier when your opponent must face not only you, but themselves at the same time. The more a victim already happens to be effected the more they are susceptible to the madness at lower levels..
Versatile – Arlecchino’s cloak ability allows him to adapt to almost any situation, forming disguises, tools or weapons best suited for the moment. The new version also so allows him to create a fairly capable defence that he lacked up until now. In addition to forming multiple appendages, besides his arms and legs, from his large cloak he can multitask like never before.
Method to the madness - Both of Alrecchino’s powers effectiveness are directly proportional to how much he decides to focus on either of them. The more he focuses on the madness the more a victim must try to resist it, the more he focuses on the cloak the tougher a shield it can become. When not focusing on the cloak it simply holds its current form, when not focusing on the madness it remains as a simple light aura this avoids wasting spiritual power on either ability.
Weaknesses
Draining – Besides simply controlling the appendages created and sculpted from his cloak, all of his powers are pretty draining, even the madness on its passive level leaks a small amount of spiritual pressure, if he decides to focus on any of the noted abilities he will quickly feel its drain, meaning he ideally needs to use his abilities in short burst depending on the situation, rather than leaving them constantly at full power. The creation of a new cloak from scratch is also very draining(can only summon one every three post cycles and at most three times a thread).
Hoist by his own petard – What happens if the person his madness makes him appear to be is one person his victim hates beyond all reasoning? Whatever the reason all he’s done is make the guy angry. Even worse is the chance for a heroic revelation that his ability grants. There’s nothing worse than cutting into some schmuck only to be suddenly parried and faced with some newfound resolve.
Men can't multitask - Well Arlecchino can to a certain degree but not really as much as he would like. Theoretically he could create a hundred arms but he would can only really use fourteen or so effectively while the others would wave about or simply hang limp.
