Appearance
Barrin's mask is an image of madness, a fearsome looking mask which resembled an angry baboon. Two eyes that showed his yellow iris, and a vicious looking set of teeth that lined the mouth which stayed open, no matter what Barrin did. The mask looked like it was screaming.
While he was a horribly clean, goodlooking man in life, Barrin's appearance in death and total hollowification was influenced by all the years of his cruelty and evil. His form gradually changed from being that of a lean, good-looking aristocrat of average height to that of an almost primeval 'monkey man' form, towering almost at around 8 to 9 feet tall.
His hollow hole is located somewhere near his abdomen.
Personality
In life, Barrin was a loudmouth, and a very annoying one at that. He would always declare what he was about to do to his opponents, and as he did it, he gave the dying man a methodical blow-by-blow account of what he did and what he still intended to do...while smiling, as if he was enjoying himself.
But in death, and in his new life as a hollow, Barrin is something else. A silent, primal spectre, moving slowly. But don't let this fool you: for Barrin is as effective as the next fast-moving hollow, only he does not want to reveal it, as one of his trump cards. Barrin's appearance itself is a testament to this, appearing as a full, buff hollow, but underneath actually is a toned, well-oiled machine ready to kill...which is his motivation for his new life. Kill, or be killed. Conquer, or be conquered. That is his motto in life, and this is what drives him even in death.
History
There had been many horrible tales during the Crusades, particularly those about the Romanian Count Vlad Tepes and his horrible Crusade against the invading Turks on his beloved Romania. But few are jotted down in the annals of history, and the Crusades in Romania produced a great many bloody stories, and tales of good men gone evil.
One of these few was a Boyar, Barrin. His last name he had forcefully omitted, since his bastard father left him and his peasant mother to fend for themselves. Fend for themselves they did, until his father's only royal son and heir died in a war which they did not foresee. Barrin, who had grown up in the rearing of his mother and had grown up in constant hatred of the man who fathered him, saw this as an opportunity to rise up in life. Therefore, declaring himself as the new heir to the Boyar throne since his father had no remaining heirs left, Barrin overthrew his father in a vicious coup that had him killing his own father in cold blood.
Afterwards, after Barrin had taken the throne and had fashioned himself as Barrin the Conqueror, he started a vicious campaign (he fashioned it as a 'crusade' since he argued that technically, these lands were under Moslem Turks) almost the same time as the other Romanian princes. This saw his territory grow to an enormous size, defeating opponent after opponent.
This came to a halt only when he had faced the forced of the Ottoman Emperor himself, and his army suffered a vast loss after a losing battle against the superior Ottoman Army.
However, he continued to reign in his territories with an iron hand, and for fun, had a series of tournaments held in which he offered the throne of his kingdom as a reward. The final condition to be met was to kill him, and he himself was a terribly good swordsman, and a very skilled fighter, a genius beyond his years. Many people died a humiliating death in his hands, with him dissecting piece by piece, bit by bit how the man would die, and the man died thus. But his life wouldn't last forever.
A group of Boyars loyal to his father's true bloodline conspired to kill him. It was led by his uncle, and these traitors conspired to kill him in his sleep. They were successful...his own wife, whom he truly loved, was the one who was instrumental in having him killed.
...
When he woke up, everything seemed to be normal, except for one thing...the people seemed to be ignoring him. He went here and there, talking, asking, waiting for an answer but no one seemed to notice he was there...until he saw his own body in the kitchens, awaiting to be disposed of like common garbage.
Enraged, he sought out those who were responsible for his death, and one by one, killed them in their sleep, coming into their dreams, and doing his habit of methodically taking them apart. The last...and most horrible...of deaths he reserved for his dear beloved wife, the only woman he ever loved. He drove her insane, until she went off and impaled herself onto a suit of armour in the throne room, the one which Barrin wore during his conquests.
Thus ended Barrin's empire, and thus began his descent into madness.
Through the years, Barrin wandered the desolate wastelands of the Carpathians, hacking a bloody path through the centuries as a lone spectre of fright. The sightings in the mountains of a large, hostile cave man? That was HIM. He had further delved into madness, he himself grew mad. Without a sense of direction, and having defeated his enemies, Barrin grew into a mindless hollow.
Sightings of Barrin grew even more frequently, and so did his appetite. Luring clueless people in his dwell in the mountains, he grew in size and strength as he devoured more souls...including the lost souls of the Boyars he's killed, and of his dear wife. All the souls sought to gain dominance of the body that was Barrin's, but as in life, he effectively conquered all the memories and visions trapped within him, until he grew into a visage of fearsome strength and fearsome hunger.
Barrin the Conqueror remains Barrin the Conqueror, even up to this day, as he dwelled into Asia in search of more souls to feed on, and more places to 'conquer'.
Combat
Strengths
Military Tactician Barrin is considered to be a 'thinking fighter' during his lifetime, but it didn't stop there. He found that in death he STILL is a tactician, having mastered different types of martial combat and warfare tactics during his lifetime.
Conquer, or be conquered. Kill, or be killed. His personal motto in life turned out to be even more effective in death. It kept him going, striving to become the top of the proverbial food chain, the apex predator as it is.
Silent but deadly His appearance...and his apparent silence...might make him seem weak and easily defeatable, but underneath this exterior lies a hungry predator waiting to pounce on the next gullible prey.
Weaknesses
Pride His pride is one of the things which he held in high esteem, and so it is annoying to die like that, in his sleep. Things which remind him of his death and things which would hurt his ego would make him distracted and easily gullible for a good attack. Over-cockiness Being someone who was close to an emperor in life, Barrin had carried something as it is that he looks at all his opponents as trash...and sometimes underestimates them too much, that his own tactic of being 'silent but deadly' backfires on him.
Hampering Body Hair Albeit a very embarrassing weakness, tangles in Barrin's body hair sometimes makes him seem to be a very laughable and clumsy opponent.
