Appearance
Brown hair, one blue eye, one violet eye. Wears a Captain's cloak at all times, hanging just off his shoulders. The top corners of the garb are connected by a small golden tassel, keeping it from falling off. Rather than a squad symbol, the captain's crest is adorned with the word "Encanto". A fair sized hood is also present on the cloak, giving it a definingly different look then an ordinary captain's cloak. Wears a scarf tied around his arm, as a symbol of his Queen. (Think of medieval knights wearing their wife's colors.) Finally, he wears geta whose bottoms are plated with steel to allow parries and blocks.
Personality
Because of his past, he has a lot of pride. He is a cunning, intelligent man, and can be quite charismatic if the need arises. With the restoration of his memories, his personality has undergone a rather large shift. Amon is sarcastic, misanthropic, and a cynic with a quick, cruel wit. He will often go off on rants and belittle those around him. Amon will frequently show his cunning and biting wit, enjoys picking people apart, and often mocks their weaknesses.
He has no fear of repercussions for his actions, and if something bothers him, the person is going to hear about it, and it will most likely be laced with cruelty. He is almost consistently cranky, and is very open about it. The radical personality shift can be attributed to all the experiences he's had, and all the darkness that he's seen in the world flooding back. His faith in humanity and anything has more or less degraded to a point where he has faith in almost no-one outside himself and his family.
He has a sardonic contempt for the shinigami as a whole, mostly due to his own hatred of how they operate. He believes it has become a shallow shell of what it was meant to be, and no longer has any soul or love to it. He believes that it's being done for the sake of control and power. He has very sharp eyesight and abnormally acute perception, and is extraordinarily lucky. Amon makes use of sleight-of-hand techniques to win card games, pick pockets, and even to slip things onto other people unnoticed.
Under his misanthropic personality lies a brilliant mind. A master tactician and strategist, as well as a cunning and brilliant man, he is generally many steps ahead of others in most situations. He is easily able to notice and analyze situations and small details and plan accordingly. Along with this comes a deep sense of pride when a plan goes just right.
His queen has a large spot in his heart and personality. His queen is the driving force in his life. Even his will to repay his biggest sin doesn't compare to his drive to stay by his queen. His patchy memory and subconscious instincts play a large role in his life, often leaving him confused or acting oddly to a situation.
Inside him lies the heart of a King. He has a will to protect anyone around him, and he has a sense of duty when someone is being hassled and he witnesses it. And through all this, he is the head of his family, and they come before anything else in his life.
History
Amon was born in the royal line to the throne of Zenobia, a powerful nation back when the human race was young. It was far advanced for its time, and this incited the wrath and jealousy of other countries, forcing it into war almost constantly. Amon was a strange young man, always energetic and eager to grow up to be King, but that wasn't what made him strange. Amon was born a fullbringer, with an incredible power. When he finally grew to manhood, and his father passed away, he gladly accepted the role of King. Not long after, he met his queen. She was a beautiful young woman, and they loved each other passionately. He took her for his queen, and the kingdom prospered.
But the wars didn't stop. Zenobia was a constant target, but it also never fell. People would tell stories of the army, and how the king rode into battle and fights ended in flashes of light and strange power. One nation decided that the only way to destroy the kingdom was to kill the King, and the only way to hurt the king was through his queen. An assassin was hired to kill the queen, and another invasion occurred. Amon returned from the first skirmish of the new war to the sight of his wife's murder. He dispatched the assassin and held his queen in his arms for her last moments.
Amon was enraged. He launched a fast assault on the enemy, and in his absolute rage, he lost control. His powers went wild, and the enemy, his allies and his entire kingdom were wiped from existence. Noone really knows what happened on that day, but the rest of the world took notice. The only legend that survived to tell the tale was of the lost capital... The lost city of Atlantis.
When he awoke in soul society, his first instinct was to search out his queen, and so he did. He spent three years searching her out, and found nothing. He learned of Shinigami, and thought it was the best way to make himself noticeable, help her find him. Amusingly, when he joined the academy, he found his queen enrolled as well. He worked feverishly to keep things safe, make sure everything worked, protect the place from hollows. He even found time to start a family, beginning a new clan of minor nobles.
Times were good, he was happy once again. His wife gave him the nickname "Encanto", and Amon loved it. But all good things must come to an end. When Soul Society was threatened by an extremely powerful arrancar, Amon ran out to destroy him with his own hand. The battled ferociously, tearing up the very land at its seems. Amon dealt a finishing blow to the arrancar, but not before being fatally wounded. His dearest wife arrived on the scene just in time to hold her dying husband in his last moments. Amon died again, with a smile on his face.
Amon was reborn without his memory, or so everyone thought. When Amon reached adulthood, he was flooded with bits and pieces and patches of memory from his former lives. At first it was overwhelming, the pictures, the thoughts, the memories, he couldn't make sense of it all. But slowly he began to get a small grasp on some of the things he had seen. He understood who he had been, that he had been a powerful warrior in the past. He also remembered the face of his queen, and his love for her.
Amon took to wandering, and for endless years upon years, he drifted in an out of history, always searching for his lost love. A powerful gladiator, an unstoppable knight, a lone desperado, an infamous outlaw, a wandering hero, he made appearances in all sorts of places through history, the only records of him or memories of a person simply known as "The Encanto". He died and returned to Soul Society many times, his memories always patchy and inconsistent, he never made it back into the Gotei 13. Not by lack of power, his power always flourished and raged, but he chose not to, so that he could continue wandering and searching.
Present day, his life ended once more, and he has returned to the shinigami. He is well known and infamous, always wearing a Captain's cloak adorned with "Encanto" rather than a squad. He has reclaimed his position as head of his minor noble family, and is working his way back up to power; his search still incomplete.
Other than his memories, the last thing he has from his former love, is a small shell attached to a necklace chain.
