Appearance
Alex is only a small thing, standing at a mere fifty inches tall (4' 2") and weighing in at only sixty-seven pounds (67 lbs.). Her attire consists mostly of things a little girl would wear. Her coat is long and darkish brown concealing almost all of her black skirt. She keeps a light purple scarf snuggly around her neck and her thigh highs are of equal color as well. Her hair is medium hazel in color with hints of dark brown and auburn. Her soft, purple eyes and black skate shoes often are what people take notice of before anything else. Hiding beneath her coat is a light purple tank top, a sterling silver heart shaped locket worn loosely around her neck (to which she has pictures of her mother and father) and a sterling silver bracelet upon each wrist followed lastly by a thin set of black gloves. Often she has a jet black backpack, a single strap across the chest, strapped to her in which she keeps a first aid kit and anything else she feels she may need for her current adventure.
Personality
Alex is a gentle, caring child. She finds nature fascinating. How life cycles on without a care for what others do, eventually redistributing itself where it needs to be. In this way, Alex wishes to be like this. If a cat got injured by a car, she would nurse it back to health. If a boy beat a squirrel, she would take it to the veterinarian. In any way, she helps where she can. At home she helps her mother prepare dinner, and cleans after words. Even strangers on the street, should one ask for money or for food, she would not hesitate to give them freely. Because she is young, innocent and caring, one could probably easily take advantage of her should they wish to.
She is not shy, but she does not talk noisily to strangers like she would friends unless she had questions that needed to be solved. She can be independent in this manner, seeking out information herself, over letting others do it for her. She has read many books and even taken many summer classes on random things; swimming, first aid, farming and animals, cooking, laundry, drawing, the list goes on. Anything she wants to do and doesn't know how she goes right to a local bookstore to read up on it or finds someone to teach/inform her.
History
Alex's life originally began in the United States. She was born in Seattle, Washington located along the western coast of the Continental United States. There she was born at her fathers work place; the Bremerton Naval Hospital. For the earlier part of her life, she attended school here in Seattle. Had friends, and was an average child; at least that's what others thought. She often saw things other children couldn't. Glimpses of people walking through walls, fences and other objects. She tried talking to a few yet they never replied. Other times she could just hear screaming, laughing, crying, giggling. She always had a feeling she was different but never put any thought into it and her parents assumed it was her young age and lively imagination.
Her father's career as a Medical Naval Lieutenant always made her joyful. She was proud and loved the fact that her father willingly helped people he didn't know. Even outside of work, he often tried to help others. Sometimes he even let her come to work with him. He often encouraged her to help as much as she could, even if it was a little. Alex helped her mother, helped her neighbors, helped her friends pets, helped anything really. She never felt ill will towards anyone, and felt that no matter the person, they could be helped through anything. She even went as far to make her father teach her basic first aid. To which he happily obliged her. Alex had the fingers of a surgeon, the softest touch, able to apply first aid with little pain inflicted to the patient. Usually this only consisted of bandaging cuts on her mothers fingers, and scrapes on her own knees. But still, she had shown the potential to become great!
Sadly though, she was quite confused and distraught when her father had accepted an overseas position in the navy. It was one thing to move, they had moved a couple times within Seattle before. She usually still had the same friends, same family, yet this time they would be moving all the way to Japan. She knew it was for her father, and she loved him so, that she tried not to be upset, yet inside she was. She would have to start over from scratch; make new friends and attend a new school.
Shortly after arriving in Japan they traveled to their new home. Their house was located in the residential district, smack dab in the middle of Okumichi City. It was a nice home, huge and cozy, but to keep travel fees down, they only took the bare minimum, so currently it's fairly empty. Alex only has some clothing in a box, and a mattress on her velvet carpet floor. Even worse was the fact that her father would only be home on weekends.
While they lived in Shizuoka Prefecture, her father actually worked over in the Kanagawa Prefecture, at the U.S. Naval Base in Yokosuka City. He did the same thing here as he did back in Seattle. However he ran his own team with his higher ranking promotion for the move. Now he was nearly two and a half hours from home though. So during the week, her father would call, which overjoyed her, but only her and her mother had each other's company. With the money brought in, Alex's mother, Sarah Hughes was a stay at home mother. She didn't mind her mother home all the time though. She felt safe this way. Alex knew this would be a great experience though, that great things would come. Her father said she would make plenty new friends and that Okumichi City had many good things to offer; that he knew she would enjoy it greatly. Maybe even find something new out about herself.
Combat
Strengths
Alex can be a strong speaker, when her mind is set to something she knows, or something she wishes to do, she will speak it.
Alex also knows basic first aid and CPR (though she would probably be less willing to do the CPR herself since it involves mouth to mouth)
She is adept at sensing peoples feelings. Even if they try to hide it or do hide it. (Spirit item will reflect this once she gets it.)
Weaknesses
Alex is very young. As so, she can be very naive and not see the whole picture of something being insinuated. Or even totally bypass a deeper understanding to a complicated matter.
She is not combative at all. She may attempt to defend herself by throwing a punch or kicking, but overall against a combat based opponent this would not work in the slightest. In most scenarios she would probably try to run or scream for help.
