Appearance
Auburn eyes meets someone of a tanned skin and a pretty face emerges. Akainu is a beauty who hides her visage underneath somewhat baggy clothes and a cap ta boot. She wears her cap as she's fond of caps and she likes to keep guys at bay' she hates being "hit-on". (Is that all guys think of?) Her body is slender and curvy, her bust, minuscule at that. She wears a black long sleeved shirt and a skinny black kimono resembling the normal Shinigami uniform but not quite as it ties off at the ankles; closing the pants off. These are her work clothes as part of 9th Division's Maintenance Team.
Her black hat which she calls "Leech", feeds off of her reiatsu and is nothing but a mouth underneath the cap with teeth spiraling all throughout it. Also underneath her hat is a mess of curly green locks that she keeps at a short length for lack of will to keep up with proper maintenance. She prides herself for her small stature and somewhat shortness, that way she can prowl all she likes. She's usually seen wearing a cheeky smile across her face; cheerful.
She carries an Asauchi, though one of Wakizashi grade at her waist at all times.
Personality
"I've learned that people can forget what you said, people may even forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Note: Akainu often refers to herself in 3rd person for lack of nothing better to do. A unique personality quirk, rare among people and quite weird says some.
"The best-laid plans of mice and men go oft astray."
Plans are not guaranteed, and plans sometimes do not work out quite the way you want them. The mind of this woman comprehends many concepts and ideas, this being a core fundamental. She doesn't put absolute trust in plans but rather acts off of impulse and instincts. It's not to say she's rash or anything, she does think things through very thoroughly, but her instincts are backed by an intellectual thinking speed that would seem to defy the common trend of the mind. Often is it said that Akainu possesses the tactical and complete competent ingenuity of a five star general. In short, she's a genius. Her actions and behavior defy this aspect of her person, but in the depth of her being dwells a highly knowledgeable woman.
"The best things in life are free."
A common phrase for Akainu; She's a devout onlooker of the heavens, often caught gazing deeply at the sky during a cool night. Her fascination with the celestial body above is one of the free things she speaks of. Akainu loves the rain, the wind, and all things that make the world turn. Not necessarily a nature lover, but an admirer of sorts. This is one of the areas of compassion one will see Akainu express herself in. Quite a few of her emotions are kept bottled up in the end though.

Akainu has a knack for finding trouble when there's nothing better to do. If she's not staring up into the celestial heavens or doing something time consuming she's plotting her next trick, postulating a theory or even inventing something. She enjoys joking with people. She's not a hardcore prankster but she is quite adept in the field. And her theories are often sound ones.
Akainu has a sense of adventure only supplemented by her strong sense of justice. Which often leads her into domestic disputes and mysteries beyond the comprehension of others. She loves a good challenge and she likens herself to being a detective of sorts. Thus is her reason for analyzing everything, keeping her mind at its peak efficiency.
History
"I remember a place... a time... a home like many homes... men like a lot of other men... on a path like many other paths. And the thing is, after all these years, I sill think back... with wonder."
-Atlantis? | 9420 BCE- A young female with black locks so dark they took on a green hue was born and raised for 20 years on a very rich and prosperous island that would have a tragic incident befall them the year of 9422 BCE. A volcanic eruption coupled with extreme seismic activity plunged the Island to the bottom of the sea. A legendary event spoken of only in Myth, was this Atlantis?
-Soul Society | 9400 BCE - 1971 CE- The female having lost her identity upon reaching the afterlife grew accustom to life as a soul in the growing Soul Society. Her devout attitude and strong will lead her to lead a strong life and an inspirational figurehead within the expanding districts of Rukongai.
Surviving much longer than most souls, this woman grew to become known as Inuzuri Kenpachi for her deeds in founding the next to penultimate district of Rukongai named after her for her tenacity and demeanor of a Howling Dog. She fought like a beast leading a revolt against savage souls who claimed the land of others unjustly. Though she donned the name for her strength in battle and her earth-shaking battle-cry; Inuzuri did what she had to in the name of those she loved and swore to protect.
Immortalized as the force behind establishing Inuzuri as the 78th district of Rukongai, Inuzuri Kenpachi lived for many more years even taking on another name; Akainu, The Red Dog. For her bright red reiatsu and blatant disregard for the rising force of the Shinigami. She lived for centuries on and passed away a legend in the year 1961.
-1961 - 1984- Tanager Sheri was born in Brazil during trying times. She was a bright and inspirational girl like her unknown past would tell of her character. She grew up through some adversity, the daughter of a white man and a Brazilian native woman she was an exotic breed. Both beauty and resiliency were on her side.
She had a love for animals and the forensics field. She ultimately grew up to become a Zoologist. Studying animals and traveling through the vast habitats around the Earth. It was in the year 1984 when she met her demise. She was near home, early in her career, deep in the jungles of the Amazon when a mud-slide befell her camp, burying many alive, killing 21 researchers. One of which' being Sheri. She died at the young age of 22.
-Shinigami Academy | 1984 to Present- Sheri entered Soul Society once more. Her spirit having already resided here once, she felt a common nostalgia. She found life in Soul Society to be easy going even though she lived in one of the most ruthless districts of Rukongai; the 79th District - Kusajishi. It seemed as if people were cautious of her. When people spoke of her they called her Akainu, oddly she adopted the name over the years. She hadn't known that only 30 years earlier had a woman with the same green hair and auburn eyes had passed away. a ruthless legend. Though she was not this woman those who remembered her and those who were told her stories saw the resemblance in Akainu.
It was only a matter of time before her reiatsu signature sparked a response from the Shinigami of Seireitei after 10+ years of fermenting in the tough environment of Rukongai. She was scouted and quickly placed into the Shinigami Academy where she graduated with good marks in kendo and general studies. Due to her reputation with a kendo shinai, Akainu boastfully took on the name Kenpachi for her class. It took her 5 years to graduate from the academy. (2001)
She was offered a position in the 1st Division for her great knowledge of the Shinigami ways and her stern nature- given at times -but she denied the offer and instead joined the 3rd Division as many of her classmates did. There she learned the ropes of what it was truly like to be a Shinigami. Or rather a front-liner. She chose the division for their benefits of having to vacation for extended periods on Earth, whether it be on duty or not. Spending 3 years in the Division.
Events came to fruition and Akainu got wrapped up in a renegade case. She was sanctioned to assist the 6th Division in capturing and bringing this renegade to justice. She performed exceptionally and with her knowledge of the area they quickly brought the rogue Shinigami under the gavel. Whereupon Akainu was awarded merit and was requested to join the 6th Division. She accepted, needing a change of pace after spending years on Earth. (2004)
Akainu had hardly spent a year in the 6th Division before she knew that it was not her cup of tea. Sure her first unofficial mission with the Division was a thrill, but she had never come close to death as many times as she had fighting Hollows then fighting her own fellow Shinigami. It saddened her to see them betray the law like they did, but she couldn't handle the stress. So she had a choice: A desk job, or back to the 3rd Division. A vacation did sound nice. (2005)
Akainu chose a desk job, joining the ranks of the 12th Division. With her keen mind and knack for technology, she fit in quite well with the nuts and weirdos who littered the Divisions ranks. It was here that she developed gadgets and apparitions for her use. She fit in well with the 12th Division and meshed with them virtually unnoticed. Feeling she had no more worth within the Division, she finally transferred out after 4 years within the Research Labs. It was time for a change of pace. (2009)
Akainu joined the 9th Division with aspirations to enter the Special Investigation Squads. Her goal was set and her trip through the Gotei 13's divisions would continue. For now- she was a simple maintenance crew in the Progress Files Compound of the 9th. (2010)
Combat
Strengths
Improv: Akainu has a strong ability to improvise in any situation, as well as surprise people with her zany tactics and quick wit.
Leech: Akainu wears a reiatsu leeching hat atop her head from her days in the 12th Division. This battery of sorts slowly saps her of reiatsu and while wearing it she can't utilize her full potential. She doesn't even seem to be a Shinigami of any power at all due to its reiatsu masking abilities. But when she removes it and releases her built up reiatsu she rockets above her max level of reiatsu by 50% for 2 post cycles.
Weaknesses
Overthinker: Akainu tends to over think situations on occasion. She'll waste time and effort on the complicated route when things are sometimes much much easier. Leech: Akainu's reiatsu leeching hat makes her a bit sluggish with her movements though she's still quick and agile she seems clumsy and "out-of-it" when exerting herself in a combat situation.
