Appearance
Little has changed about the young man. Much in the height variety that is. Ace still stands at 5'0" to 5'2". His silver hair has grown a few inches over the time. Hanging well below the young mans nose and touching the base of his neck. Ace's eyes are beginning to tell a story of his trails in Soul Society, having crows feet and bags under his bright golden hues.
Outside of natural effects of aging, he has a series of scars on his body from fighting. The young man, has a series of cuts and stab wounds from many of his training and sparring bouts. Ace has a thing of burns scars to inhabiting most of the mans torso, from battles and sparring sessions involving Fensake and so unknown Hollow (Known as Dorze).
Ace's Shihakushō has faded a tad more, being that of a more grey tone. He also has a series of rips and cuts and burns running through out the entire outfit. Ace refuses to get a new one.
Personality
Ace's personality is more scattered than previously. It is like a rock and a hard place. Ace has found it hard to grow and move from being the kid who died fighting to someone who could turn away from the fight. He credits this inability to advance personality wise on his division still.
When he first made it in the squad, he thought that he was like his Captain, but is slowly coming to realize that, his assumption is not true. Even though he his Captain loves the fight, Ace finds it fun and a game, that has in moments. But nothing to live day to day with (A Revelation he learned when playing with Gilbert).
Ace now knows that he can't try and force others to be like him and speak up, it is a choice and way of life, for some.
With these things brought to light, he now tries to show emotions when fighting, to let others know that he is not completely serious.
History
Ace was born on Halloween in Nashville, Tn. His father came from a small village on the out skirt of Tokyo, and his mother came from Skull Bone, Tn. When his mother was in high school she was allowed to visit Tokyo and study abroad. Where she met Ace's father, at the time he was a junior at Tokyo High School in Omori, Tokyo.
The two fell in love quite fast getting married only a few years after they graduated from high. A few years later his mother found out she was pregnant and not wanting to have her son in a foreign country she asked if they could move back to the states.
Being a family man, his father agreed on her terms and they both moved to Nashville, Tn, USA a few months before he was born. Once there his mother, Tamara, introduced named him to her Ace. Loving the name so much, he decided to name their child Ace, after his wife's favorite uncle. And it was proper to let the boy take the family name Ketchi-Kané.
His parents knew how bad the kids would treat their son, for being of mixed heritage. What they did not take into consideration was how bad the south would treat one of mixed heritage. Even though they spoke to their son in both American-English and Japanese. They knew that it would be tough, but not as bad as it would have been over in Japan.
Ace grew up like a normal boy in the south. He went to the fishing hole, he enjoyed riding horses, he wore cat ears from when his mother met his father. He got into fights. When he was younger his mother showed Ace a set of cat ears that his father bought for her on their first date.
She was planning on giving them to a daughter, but she ended up having Ace instead. Not wanting them to just sit around and collect dust Ace asked if he could have them, so he could feel closer to his parents and the fact that he liked the ears more than his one, he refuses to take them off.
Now back to the fights, he was in way more fights than a boy his age should have been in. More so, on the fact that he refused to take off his cat ears and when a person did try to remove them he would hit them. It was the constant fights that made him fall in love with fighting even more. It was this fact that made him want to fight once he died and appeared in the Seireitei, that was all he did.
He died in 1999 due to a fight, with some bigger boys. Even though they out numbered him four to one. He still refused to give up. He died from multiple blows to the head.
Once he made it to the Seireitei, Ace was scared and alone, not knowing what to do. So, he did what everyone else around him did. He joined Shinigami Academy. There is where his story takes place.
Months after Ace completed the academy, he was placed into the 11th division for his spark for fighting and his ability to just go with the punch. The young man, did everything to try and fit in. He even began to lose himself in the crowd. Following others, will and thoughts outside of his on.
After awhile, he was given a mission to take out a lowly hollow, but failed. The battle was great, but with the battle ground being a hospital he held back. Not killing the creature right then. Playing with his food so to speak.
By the time Ace got the hollow out of the building and onto the streets, he was ready to put his game face on, but the battle was cut short. The hollow escaped.
That is when Ace decided to revert back to himself, be more cheerful and less brute, but to do that he would have to hone his fighting skills. When the young man returned to the Sereitei, he began to train solo. Longer and tougher, but with a flare that was befitting a child.
During his training he learned that sensing a peson location is to long and boring, like playing hide and go seek, but with out the fun. So, he began to find more ways into making things fun.
During that time Ace meet a fellow shinigami by the name of Fensake. He is not sure where that holds place, to this day. As the two talked, they began to battle, blowing off steam. Ace and the guy became friends that day. So much so the guy offered Ace a change in positions or squads.
He made the boy feel at peace with his blade, the blade that marched to a different drum beat. After some time Ace decided to train even more so, but before he could finish that he was sent on an actual mission with two other shinigami from different squads.
Eiishim from the 9th and Tomoe from the 13th. The mix was fun at tims and Ace had to be annoying the rest of the time. The mission with the two seemed to go on forever, in Ace's head. And when they fought the Menos it seemed that the team had a great mash-up, but when it came down to the final battle.
It seemed that Ace was no help at all to the others, even thoug he tried to be.
After the mission Ace was promoted to 5th seat the only available seat at the time and he began to train even more so. He was losing the person he wanted to be with every new day.
It took time, but the young man, later became skilled enough in Hohō and hakuda to stay spry enough to fight with the best, at the time.
After more time went by, Ace trained even harder. He had to find himself. It wasn't to long intothe future 3–4 months, before Ace had trained long enough to obtain bankai.
When Ace Achieved Shikai, it was weak when it came to him fighting with it, but after he trained he began to get better with it, even if he was not able to use everything to their fullest. Even now with him knowing bankai and being a better handler of his blade, he is still not proficent enough to use Shuryo to its fulles, due to know Kidō teir.
Combat
Strengths
Restless: Ace is very impatient when it comes to fighting. He attacks and attacks rarely giving his targets a chance to re-act to what he has just done.
Speed Demon: Due to Ace's small size, he is faster than most shinigami of his level. He has been seen (battles he has been in) to cover the full allowance of distance for his tier level in mere seconds.
Sun Tzu's Strategy : Ace is not the best strategy fighter, but he does know enough to work out a plan for victory.
Kicking A Dead Horse: Ace will fight anyone, but he will not kick a person, who won't continue to fight back. He'd rather have them run from the scene. Then stand and try and fight, when they know they can't.
Temper Tantrum: When Ace throws a tantrum, he gets angry strong. His Fist feel like a steel pole, was used to hit a person(Hakuda). But this normally happens, when somethings don't go his way. I.E anything that will embarrass him.
Weaknesses
Never Back-down: Ace is not afraid to take on anyone. He finds that when one (He) enter a fight, then they (he) should finish it even if that means, that one (he) would die in the process.
Tragic Magic: Ace is not the person to go to when you need a spell of any means. Even though he knows his Bakudou from Kidou, he can't harvest the energy it takes to wield the powers of Kidou without the aide of Bun Shu-Ki-No Yume (Shikai and Bankai Abilities). Trying to do so would result in a backfire, with some awkward moments.
Temper Tantrum: When Ace gets mad, you can tell. Still being a kid after all, he is quick to throw a tantrum. Which always without a fail, hurts him more than anyone. It makes him inaccurate. When fighting in a tantrum, he leaves himself open and he rushes to use his release forms.
