Appearance
For all intents and purposes Acacia is (and has always been) a rather plain looking girl, possessing a medium build and height that do not make her stand out at all. Her facial features also play a large role in this, what with her button nose, heart-shaped lips, and dense freckles. Her cheeks grow rosy at even the slightest hint of cold, and it’s not too uncommon for them to remain in this state for extended periods of time, giving her a perpetually ruddy look. Golden-brown eyes serve as her visual window to the surrounding world and are usually filled with mild disinterest. Her hair is extremely light red to the point where it could possibly very well be considered pink. She wears it fairly short, coming down to hover a little above her shoulders, with flippy ends. There was a time when she wore it past shoulder-length but after repeated attempts in the past to tame it she eventually decided the hassle just wasn’t worth it.
When it comes to her usual style of dress she prefers to keep it casual with a plain t-shirt, a nice pair of jeans, and some trendy sneakers.
Personality
Sarcastic and realistic come to mind when describing Acacia. She doesn’t put too much faith in crazy ideas and plans, and will do her best to disprove and shoot them down with logical reasoning. Unless someone can show her actual proof that it’ll actually work, she won’t go with it. She likes to make sure that whatever she does makes sense and has specific instructions drawn out for each step. She also pays extreme attention to details and is a bit of a perfectionist. All of these traits come together to make her quite a frustrating person to deal with.
On the flip side, Acacia believes in working hard to get what she wants. She doesn’t expect things to be handed to her on a silver platter, and absolutely detests people who have that mindset. Sure, she wants nice things as much as the next person. But she knows that in order to get it she has to put forth the required amount of effort. She’s very much an overachiever.
Those she deems her friends get treated with the proper amount of care and respect they deserve. Not many share the same ideas as her, and to find at least one person who does is more than enough to make her happy. She has no problem being a mentor of sorts, guiding them in the right direction without practically holding their hand the whole time. She’s ‘Grade A’ counselor material, to say the least. This also goes for her loved ones, her sarcasm put on hold and her soft side coming out in its place. At times like this, she doesn’t feel the pressure to do the best she can and beat the ‘competition’ at everything. She can relax, smile, and laugh without restriction.
History
Born in Shizuoka to a Japanese father and a British mother, Acacia lived a fairly normal life during her childhood. She played games, went to school, and got into a little mischief every now and then. Though they exerted discipline on her when needed, her parents did their best to not come off as overbearing to their young daughter. When she was eight years old her father’s mother came to live with them after her husband passed, preferring to spend the rest of her days amongst loved ones. It was here that a bond was formed between the grandmother and granddaughter. The two of them were nearly inseparable, spending nearly all of their free time together. The wise old woman constantly told Acacia that she was a special little girl whom she could see was destined for great things.
Not wanting to prove her grandmother wrong, Acacia began to focus all of her energy on her studies. By the time she’d reached junior high school she was quite the scholar. Unfortunately, being so into her studies meant she never had the time to form any true friendships. Many days were spent in the stacks of the library amongst books instead of getting to know her peers. By the time she realized her folly it was much too late, so instead she opted to continue on with academic pursuits.
Entering high school would have normally been a proud moment for her. Sadly, it was overshadowed by the sudden death of her beloved grandmother. The family grieved the loss of such an important person in their lives and tried their best to carry on. That night after the funeral Acacia was up late finishing up an assignment when she heard a familiar voice call her name. Spinning around in her chair she saw the form of her grandmother smiling at her from across the room. Unable to speak, she watched as her grandmother crossed the room, leaned over, and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead after which she reassured her that she was still destined for great things. Acacia blinked, and just like that her grandmother was gone.
From that night on nothing was ever quite the same again for her. She began to catch glimpses of people out of the corner of her eye, and when she would turn to get better a better look at them they seemed to just vanish before her very eyes. For quite awhile she considered telling her parents about these strange occurrences, though fear of her sanity being brought into question stopped her from doing so. With time however she learned to live with it by focusing her energy into other things that would distract her from noticing the strange figures.
Her high school graduation came and went, and she proceeded to waste no time heading to University. For this she moved from her hometown to Okumichi City, ready for a change in atmosphere and a little independence to boot. Snagging a part-time waitressing job and a small affordable apartment with a kitchen sink she frequently did battle with, Acacia began to make a life for herself, ignoring any weird happenings or sightings she came across. Now she’s in her final year of schooling and is looking forward to getting her hands on the degree after all the blood, sweat, and tears.
Combat
Strengths
Acacia is fairly witty, which is a natural by-product of her level of intelligence. She usually expresses her feelings on a situation through short, frank comments that range from humorous to down-right inappropriate at times. Upon taking a second look at her however it becomes quite clear that she is a hard-working, logical, and driven individual who is dedicated to becoming something in life. Acacia also possesses quite a bit of compassion for those she is close to, especially her family. Last but not least, unknown to her she has an impressive amount of reiatsu, though it is suppressed for the most part and requires much development.
Weaknesses
Her witty demeanor often veers into the territory of harsh sarcasm that may make those around her uncomfortable. Throw in her need to be in charge all the time and you have quite a difficult person to deal with. Her wit is only matched in tenacity by her level of skepticism. Although she is aware that the figures she sees are not normal, she absolutely will not believe them to be of paranormal origin. That would just be silly, and not to mention would shatter most if not all of her beliefs.
Self-defense is not something she's very skilled in, also. While she may be able to throw a punch or two or kick an attacker in the shins, she is by no means a fighter.
